Here's what we're looking for: BEng / MEng in Civil Engineering, BSc / MSc in Geology, Engineering Geology, or Earth Science or MSc in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology is desirable. Chartered Engineer (IEng/CEng) or Chartered Geologist (Cgeol) status is desirable but not a must. Experience in authoring Geotechnical Desktop Studies, Coal Mining Risk Assessments, Geotechnical Specifications and Interpretative Geotechnical Reports. Knowledge of typical ground conditions interpretation/parametric assessment and correlation methods applicable to common geotechnical design problems. Ideally experience in geotechnical design (e.g. earthworks, foundations, retaining structures, slope stabilisation) with strong analytical skills and some experience in the use of relevant geotechnical design software. Good knowledge of UK ground conditions and ground investigation practices. Experience in the design, specification and management of ground investigation (remotely and in the field).
