Job Description

To support the comedy programme across all aspects of programming and administration, with a specific focus on the programme at Soho Theatre Walthamstow, ensuring its successful delivery. This role requires a passion for comedy and theatre, energy, enthusiasm, and a strong determination to succeed.

Responsibilities
  • Artist Liaison: Be a primary contact for artists and companies at Soho Theatre Walthamstow, greeting them upon arrival and ensuring high standards of care. Liaise with teams for smooth performance and technical schedules. Welcome and host artists, promoters, agents, and guests, representing Soho Theatre. Coordinate and purchase rider requirements and stock the artist Green Room. Support artists during sound checks.
  • Programming: Play an active role in discovering and building relationships with artists and companies. Maintain positive relationships with agents and promoters. Attend shows elsewhere to identify potential acts for Soho Theatre and Soho Theatre Walthamstow. Support the relationship between the Comedy department and Comedy Labs.
  • Administration: Assist with all administrative tasks related to the Soho Theatre Walthamstow programme. Prepare health and safety documentation. Maintain contact sheets. Manage ticketing for artists and promoters. Assist with budgeting and report compilation. Support VIP, press, and guest events.

Skills: Initiative, ability to meet deadlines, quick learner, highly organized, detail-oriented, team player, excellent communication skills.

Qualities: Creative, confident, positive, approachable, interested in comedy, capable of working independently and in teams, energetic, enthusiastic, discreet, tactful, humorous.

Experience: Confident communication with diverse audiences, experience in the comedy or arts sector preferred.
