An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the friendly and supportive team at Marple Medical Practice. Based in the village of Marple in Stockport, we are seeking a salaried GP to work 4 to 6 sessions per week, with a pattern of 4 sessions on Mondays and Fridays, and an additional 2 sessions on either Tuesdays or Thursdays.

Main duties of the job
- Work autonomously as a general practitioner, managing your patient caseload independently.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose, and treat patients in a primary care setting.
- Provide care within the practice and during home visits as needed.
- Guide and support medical students and junior colleagues to foster their development.
- Experience or interest in Women's Health is preferred, with willingness to develop skills in this area.

Job responsibilities
The successful applicant will include some extended hours in their pattern of work.
Main duties of the Job
To work as an autonomous GP, assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients both in practice and during home visits, in collaboration with healthcare colleagues.
Responsibilities include consultations, home visits, prescribing, managing patient records, and making clinical decisions independently.
You will also participate in practice meetings, clinical audits, and professional development activities, including supporting trainees and leading on specific practice areas.
Risk management, safeguarding confidentiality, and promoting health and safety are integral parts of the role.
We expect a commitment to continuous learning, team communication, and adherence to regulatory standards.
Person Specification Qualifications
- Qualified GP with CCT or equivalent.
IT Skills
- Experience with EMIS and Docman software.
Experience
- Supervision and mentorship of medical students and GP trainees.
- Interest or experience in Women's Health.
Registration
- Registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and not subject to suspension.
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
This role requires a DBS check in accordance with legal requirements.
