Corporate Counsel, AWS Sales, Marketing and Global Services

Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented lawyer to fill the position of Corporate Counsel to support Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS is at the forefront of the cloud computing industry, providing IT infrastructure services such as on-demand compute, storage, content delivery, database services, and more. AWS also offers a comprehensive suite of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) services, infrastructure, and tools to help users build, train, and deploy AI models.

This position will primarily support AWS's sales teams across Latin America, with a focus on Spanish-speaking countries, including by negotiating, drafting and advising on strategic enterprise agreements and technology licensing agreements, advising on policy, regulatory and compliance issues, and assisting with business development and other initiatives. Typical transactions will range from standard contracts to complex, high-dollar-value strategic agreements. The candidate will have primary drafting and negotiation responsibilities on deals, and provide ongoing legal counsel and contract interpretation for business team members. The role also includes participating in other AWS legal projects, including managing legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries.

- 5+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Business fluent Spanish and English language skills (speaking and writing, including negotiating and agreement drafting)

- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Experience in transactional and technology licensing or equivalent
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (in English and Spanish)
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure, outsourcing, telecommunications, cloud computing services or equivalent
- Experience in public procurement, working with government or state-owned entities
- Inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations
- Strong analytical skills and a solutions-oriented approach to addressing issues.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn and grow in a team environment
- Ability to work independently and as a part of cross-functional teams
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through, and meet deadlines
