Head of Housing

Park Avenue are working with a small Local Authority in the Southeast, on the lookout for a Head of Housing on a 2-year interim basis.

With the local government landscape continuing to shift, the Council is keen to bring in stable, long-term leadership while retaining the flexibility of an interim arrangement.

You'll have oversight of all statutory housing and landlord functions delivered by the Council - including Housing Needs and Housing Management. While Building Safety sits elsewhere, you'll work closely with that team as they prepare for regulatory inspection.

Though outside the M25, the borough shares many of the same challenges as its London neighbours - particularly around affordable housing supply. They're committed to delivering exceptional service to residents, and strong technical knowledge across these areas is essential.

Experience of operating at this level within local government is key - you'll need to be confident engaging with elected members, influencing internal stakeholders, and steering the strategic direction of the service.
