Protein Works
IT Systems Technician
Protein Works Liverpool, Merseyside
Keep a seven-day manufacturing and fulfilment operation running, and help build the IT that does it. The Role Join Protein Works as our IT Technician and be the hands-on support that keeps our factory, warehouse and fulfilment operation moving, seven days a week, from our Liverpool campus. Our IT function sits behind everything we do, from the production line to the parcel leaving the building. We're turning it into a genuinely self-servicing team: clear reactive, maintenance and project workstreams, properly prioritised in Jira, with nobody sat waiting for work to be handed out. You won't just work inside that set-up, you'll help build it. When a system hiccups here, you'll see it on the warehouse floor within minutes, and when you fix it, you'll see that too. You'll be the person who traces a labelling fault back to a broken integration, plans the release that sorts it and makes sure it never bites twice. Behind that, there's a development roadmap to 2028 that you'll help drive, including a brand new in-house middleware build. You'll be part of a small team that does it all, from service desk to systems, projects to on-call. If you're a 1st or 2nd line support engineer who likes owning the fix, hates seeing the same problem twice and wants your work to actually keep a business running, we'd love to hear from you. What You'll Do Own incoming tickets and prioritise them by real impact: know when a back end issue will hit labelling or goods in, and who on the floor needs a heads up. Support and troubleshoot the integrations that connect our systems, from APIs and middleware to the links between our warehouse management system, Sage and other platforms, and help support the build of our new in-house middleware. Plan every change carefully, from a client patch to a system release: understand what it could break, pick the right window and always have a rollback ready. Keep servers, networks, workstations and peripherals healthy with planned maintenance and backups, and contribute to system rollouts and infrastructure upgrades. Shape our Jira workflow so the team can triage and prioritise its own work, and take your turn on a rotating on-call rota with clear, tiered escalation. Lead incident reviews when things go wrong, covering the timeline, detection and response times, root cause and lessons learned, and keep everything documented in Confluence. Ideal Candidate Solid hands-on experience across networking (routing, DNS, VPNs), Windows Server, desktop operating systems and common business applications. Confidence working with system integrations: you can read and troubleshoot APIs, API keys and middleware connections, ideally between ERP, WMS or finance platforms. Experience supporting a manufacturing, warehouse or fulfilment environment, with a feel for how a systems issue ripples out into the operation. A careful approach to change: you plan releases and patches around the business, weigh up the risks and know how to roll back if it goes wrong. You document properly, from knowledge articles to incident reviews with root cause analysis. Jira, Confluence and some scripting (PowerShell, Python) help; CompTIA A+, CCNA or Microsoft certifications are a bonus. A calm, clear communicator who owns problems through to the fix, explains tech to non-technical colleagues and is comfortable being part of an on-call rota. Benefits Exclusive staff discounts Private healthcare Birthday day off Pension scheme Unique bonus scheme Cycle to work scheme Access to PW product discounts Staff socials and events State of the art PW Campus Refreshments on-site About Protein Works Protein Works is a multi-award-winning go-to lifestyle nutrition brand for health-conscious, mainstream consumers. Level Water Tunbridge Wells, Kent
What we're building Level Water exists to solve a problem that shouldn't exist: too many children with disabilities are still missing out on access to swimming. Our fundraising events are how we change that. We design and deliver some of the UK's most iconic open water swimming events - bold, logistically complex, community-driven experiences that generate unrestricted income to directly fund our programmes. Staff Software Engineers (TypeScript / Agentic AI)
Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited Portsmouth, Hampshire
Staff Software Engineers (TypeScript / Agentic AI) UK Remote or Hybrid £100k + Benefits Must Have Criteria - These roles do not offer Visa Sponsorship - Circa 5+ years' experience working with TypeScript - Must have worked with Agentic AI. Your new company This rapidly growing SaaS technology business has established itself as one of the UK's leading B2B software success stories. Combining the agility of a scale-up with the stability of a profitable, privately owned organisation, the company has built an engineering-first culture where technology investment remains a core strategic priority. Unlike many software businesses, the engineering teams are not constrained by significant legacy technology. Instead, developers work within a modern cloud-native environment, leveraging best-in-class engineering practices and a genuine DevOps culture where software is deployed multiple times per day. These Staff Engineer roles can be offered hybrid in one of their UK hubs or can be worked UK remote (once per quarter office visit). It's about finding the right people and enabling them to thrive rather than dictating working patterns. Your new role This is an organisation experiencing significant growth across its engineering function. As part of that expansion, they are recruiting multiple Software Development Managers alongside several Staff Engineers, creating an excellent opportunity to join at a pivotal stage of the company's continued growth. You'll be working alongside some of the strongest technical talent in the business whilst helping shape the next phase of engineering maturity and scale. As a Staff Engineer, you'll operate as one of the technical leaders within the engineering organisation, working across architecture, solution design, product delivery and software quality. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you'll take ownership of complex engineering challenges whilst influencing technical direction across multiple teams. You'll work closely with stakeholders on solution design, requirements gathering and architecture decisions, helping shape products from concept through to deployment. You'll prototype and explore new approaches where appropriate, support Product teams with breaking down work into deliverable outcomes and ultimately turn ideas into high-quality software running in production. The role sits within a modern TypeScript environment utilising Node.js microservices, Vue, Redis, SQL Server and SingleStore, all deployed within AWS following DevSecOps principles. Engineering teams deploy to production daily and take ownership of the products they build throughout their lifecycle. The organisation is investing heavily in next-generation product capabilities, particularly around AI-driven development and Agentic AI. As a result, you'll have the opportunity to influence how modern AI technologies are used to accelerate software delivery and create better customer outcomes. What you'll need to succeed We're looking for proven Senior / Lead / Principal / Staff level Engineers leaders who are passionate about working hands-on building best-in-class SaaS products. You'll have extensive commercial experience developing software within Full Stack TypeScript environments (roughly 5+ years) and be comfortable owning architecture, design decisions and implementation within complex production systems. Experience with Node.js, NestJS, Vue, Redis, SQL Server, SingleStore, automated testing, software security, scalable distributed systems and cloud-native development (Github on AWS) complete the wider stack. We're looking for a strong understanding of clean code principles, SOLID design patterns and modern engineering practices. You'll have experience working within mature CI/CD and DevOps teams and in a high-throughput, big data, microservices environment. Experience delivering Agentic AI capabilities is also essential. This could include AI agents, autonomous workflows, LLM-powered applications, orchestration frameworks, RAG implementations or similar AI-driven product functionality. Strong stakeholder engagement skills are also important, as you'll regularly work with Product teams, engineering leadership and business stakeholders to shape solutions and drive technical outcomes. What you'll get in return You'll join an organisation that is fully self-funded with owners that really believe in an Engineering-first culture and are investing heavily into the department. You'll receive a salary up to £100k, 25 days' plus bank holidays enhanced pension scheme (and salary sacrifice coming soon), plus budget for training courses/certifications and to invest in the latest tools in industry. What you need to do now To find out more and to be considered for this position please apply directly, or contact Max Wilcock, Business Director on . At Hays Technology, we are shaping the future of recruitment. The rapid adoption of cloud, which is making customer interfaces more engaging and creating a seamless engagement with businesses, means that from the foundation of your organisation up, software developers are critical to success.
