You must be living and working in the UK for at least the last 3 years to qualify for the security clearance required. Based remotely from home and with occasional travel to the office in the midlands, the Senior Transmission Design Engineer will support nationwide Access and Core network migration from conventional TDM network operation to IP network and in some cases IP emulated TDM operation. The network migration will be conducted on a regional basis, with regions being migrated sequentially. The post holder will have responsibility for coming up with new solutions, detailed network design aspects, for managing the actual circuit migration and testing at a technical level and for providing technical support to others involved in the detailed migration activity. Providing a source of expertise within the company for all technical and engineering matters relating to the new Access and core transmission network architecture and to the migration to that new architecture The review and monitoring of suppliers design, implementation and test activities, to ensure the smoothest workflow and the most cost-effective solution conforming to agreed requirements. The supervision of commissioning and acceptance testing of the network solution to ensure that it is fit for purpose.
