A day of fun at Adams Park to celebrate The Rotary Club of High Wycombe's Centenary who have raised hundreds ofthousands of pounds for local charities over the last 100 years. We're looking forward to celebrating with them and taking our stand toplay Chuck it for Change, and talk about the critical work that we do to tackle homelessness. There's children's entertainment, local musicians, food and drink and more. You do not need previous experience of our events to volunteer. It's a fun, relaxed environment and all guidance will be provided. This is one of the most important front-line roles. You'll be working alongside our support and homelessness prevention workers, helping people in a housing crisis take practical steps towards stability, while offering calm, patient and respectful support at a time when it's needed most. No two days are the same. You might be helping someone complete an application, accompanying them to an appointment at a partner's place of work, or simply offering reassurance and guidance through a difficult moment. You'll also play a part in making sure our support centre runs smoothly, so people can access help quickly and with dignity. This role is about being present, helpful, and steady, supporting people through both practical tasks and everyday challenges. What you'll be doing Helping people complete online and paper applications. Supporting clients with forms and essential paperwork. Accompanying guests to appointments such as banks, shops and public transport stations. Offering hospitality and a welcoming presence in the support centre. Making welfare calls to check in on people. Helping with triage of referrals via phone, email, and drop-in sessions. Keeping materials stocked, including new client forms. Supporting general day-to-day tasks such as preparing food parcels, collecting clothing, and keeping the centre tidy and welcoming. What the role is like This is a people-focused, hands-on role where empathy and patience really matter. You'll be working with individuals who may be experiencing crisis, uncertainty, or vulnerability, so a calm and respectful approach is essential. You don't need to have all the answers, what matters most is your ability to listen, stay steady under pressure, and treat everyone with dignity. You'll always be supported by experienced staff and part of a team that looks out for each other, including regular debrief opportunities after challenging situations. You'll need to bring Good listening skills and a calm, patient approach. Confidence using computers and learning new systems. Clear written and verbal communication skills. Emotional resilience and the ability to stay grounded in challenging situations. An understanding of confidentiality and professional boundaries. Willingness to ask questions and learn as you go. A respectful, non-judgmental attitude towards everyone. What we offer You'll receive full induction and role-specific training so you feel confident and supported from the start. Wycombe Homeless Connection is an award-winning charity with a small, experienced team working closely with dedicated volunteers who are central to everything we do. You'll also help us to promote events, opportunities and inspire support. And you'll share our prayer requests as we work to bring God's love in action to the people who need us. How it will work You take the lead on updating your church fellowship. We will email you when there's news to be shared. Whether that's a new prayer sheet or newsletter, posters for your noticeboard or items for your news sheet. You will collect literature from our office but if getting here is difficult for you then don't let that be a barrier. Time commitment Flexible and ad-hoc to suit you. No more than an hour a month.

Wycombe Homeless Connection is seeking volunteers for its weekly drop-in service in High Wycombe. From April to December, volunteers are needed on Thursdays from 6:00pm to 9:00pm to help prepare the venue, serve meals, support laundry and shower facilities, and engage with guests. No experience is required, but emotional resilience and a friendly approach are vital. A full induction and training will be provided, fostering a community atmosphere during sessions.

Every Thursday evening from April through to December, we open the doors to our weekly drop in for people who are rough sleeping. Run by a small team of volunteers, guests are offered a hot meal, drinks, conversation, and a chance to recharge phones. Guests can also shower, have their laundry washed, and access essential items like clothing, sleeping bags, and toiletries when needed. You will connect our guests with the rest of our services so we can work with them to find a route out of homelessness. Above all, Plug in is about hospitality, creating a space where people feel respected, seen, and treated with dignity. We run a winter night shelter that is open every night in January, February and March. What you'll be doing Helping prepare the space at the start of the evening and tidying up afterwards. Serving food and drinks. Supporting laundry and shower facilities. Spending time with guests through conversation, games, and general company. Helping distribute essentials such as clothing, toiletries, and sleeping bags when needed. What the role is like This is a hands on, welcoming role where small interactions matter. A friendly conversation, a calm presence, or simply sitting and chatting can make a real difference to someone's evening. You'll be supporting people who may be going through very difficult times, so we're looking for volunteers who can offer kindness, respect, and acceptance to everyone who comes through the door. Emotional resilience, a non judgmental approach, and an understanding of confidentiality are important, and you'll always have the support of the team and a debrief space after sessions. You don't need experience No previous experience or specialist knowledge is required. If you're willing to get stuck in, work as part of a team, and treat people with warmth and respect, you'll fit right in. If you happen to know your way around a washing machine, that's a bonus!
