About the Part-Time 1:1 Tutor position: Prospero Teaching are looking for 1:1 tutors to support children in care, children with special educational needs and excluded pupils in Harlow and the surrounding areas. We are looking for tutors to work on a 1:1 basis with students aged between 5-16 years old. The majority of these students are disengaged in education and will be out of school, with many of them not on a school roll. Sessions will take place either at the students home or the local library. Students are likely to have difficulty responding to conventional teaching and may have behaviour and/or SEN difficulties. They are also likely to be working below age-related expectations. The majority of cases are for either 3 hours per day, 5 days per week but this can be flexible depending on the student in question. There is also the potential to work more hours by taking on more than one case. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver sessions with a focus on English and Maths. Secondary PRU Youth Worker Ardwick Prospero teaching are working with a Pupil Referral Unit in Ardwick, the school deals with students with additional needs and mental health issues It is a classroom based role, providing mentoring and pastoral support to the students, The pupils are age 11-16 years old KS3/4 secondary all with EHCP plans and additional needs.
