Job entails Dealing with quotes/bookings/queries on Cross trades business Issuing Quotations following up quotations made for Containers, Break bulk (Commodity trades, Timber FOT rates) & RORO Process bookings via telephone and email, from UK customers/Traders and Local Line POL agents. Confirming booking details back to the customer, informing them of special requirements or restrictions, ensuring Credit worthiness. Entering Bill of Lading details and adding where needed manifests details into the company's bespoke system. Dealing with COD, Switch Bills, Indemnities for cargo release. Telephone sales General enquiries relating to quotes/bookings/scheduling. Dealing with and resolving queries promptly Credit control Transportation Processing and adding all transport data for container deliveries. Processing PIN and Badge releases in Destin8 Other functions General client liaison Liaising with the Port and Port offices General departmental clerical work. Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Freight Forwarder to join our dynamic logistics team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the transportation of goods, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing exceptional service to our clients. This position requires a strong understanding of supply chain processes and the ability to navigate complex logistics challenges effectively. Responsibilities • Coordinate and manage the movement of freight from origin to destination, ensuring timely delivery. • Utilise Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to track shipments and optimise routes. • Maintain accurate data entry for all shipments, including documentation and compliance with FDA regulations. • Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers and suppliers to ensure cost-effective solutions. • Collaborate with sales teams to generate leads and manage B2B sales opportunities. • Develop relationships with clients, providing updates on shipment status and addressing any concerns. • Implement logistics strategies that enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. • Work closely with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to streamline processes. • Ensure adherence to EDI standards for electronic data interchange.
