This brings our total funding to over $330M from top-tier investors, including Accel, Nvidia, Kleiner Perkins, Google and top founders and operators including Stripe, Datadog, Miro, Webflow, and Facebook. About the role DevOps is a culture not a team, but right now, we don't have a better name for the group of people working to improve that culture other than the DevOps Team. We're looking to expand our team with 4 Senior level members across our Platform, Operations and DevEx subteams. You will be working on a mix of what might be referred to as Platform Engineering, SRE, and Developer Experience in other places. We're a small team (7), we work across disciplines. Platform Engineering: Expanding and supporting our cross-product platform that Product Engineering teams build and run on top of. We aim to get close to "bring the application" with all the rest being batteries included. The Platform Group run all the things that everybody else stands atop. DevEx: Working with Engineering teams to help them work more efficiently, effectively, and with less frustration, including how they run locally, and smoothing the path to Production. Operations: Managing Vendor relationships, helping to build feedback loops for Product Engineering teams to stay on top of their costs and pairing up with our sister team InfoSec to keep Synthesia safe and complaint. We'd be particularly excited if you have strong experience in one or more of the following These are skills/areas where we would love to add more expertise in the team. If you've worked in these areas before, tell us about them. Temporal.io (we selfhost). We use it for lots of things. MongoDB (we use Atlas). We'd like to be better at performance and managing a rapidly growing database. Kubernetes (we're a mixed house today with ECS and EKS). We have a focus on moving completely to EKS. FinOps. Working with our finance team to understand how the business wants to allocate costs, baking those feedback loops down into our platform, managing vendors and driving down costs. Application development. If you're currently a application engineer working in Python or NodeJS with a strong operational slant, that can work well for us. From your everyday PowerPoint presentations to Hollywood movies, AI will transform the way we create and consume content. Today, people want to watch and listen, not read - both at home and at work. If you're reading this and nodding, check out our brand video . Despite the clear preference for video, communication and knowledge sharing in the business environment are still dominated by text, largely because high-quality video production remains complex and challenging to scale-until now . Meet Synthesia We're on a mission to make video easy for everyone. Born in an AI lab, our AI video communications platform simplifies the entire video production process, making it easy for everyone, regardless of skill level, to create, collaborate, and share high-quality videos. Whether it's for delivering essential training to employees and customers or marketing products and services, Synthesia enables large organizations to communicate and share knowledge through video quickly and efficiently. We're trusted by leading brands such as Heineken, Zoom, Xerox, McDonald's and more. Read stories from happy customers and what 1,200+ people say on G2 . In February 2024, G2 named us as the fastest growing company in the world. Today, we're at a $2.1bn valuation and we recently raised our Series D. Observability (Datadog), with a strong focus on enabling and empowering Engineering teams to understand their product in Production. SAAS Networking. Geolocation based performance, the path to multi-region, frontend performance optimisation. Team & Role Overview Our team owns multiple Java Spring Boot Services that execute, partition, and track quantitative risk graphs/trades in a distributed environment. These graphs can fail due to their complexity and our system must adapt quickly to these failures to provide a seamless experience for clients. XiP Compute Services are deployed onto OpenShift and Amazon's Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS). An important initiative in 2025 will be onboarding Google's Kubernetes Engine to further expand our coverage. Our system scales on-demand, and we can run up to tens of thousands of replicas of our services across all asset classes. The role of the Senior Technical Lead is to lead a variety of engineering activities including design decisions regarding technical direction of the platform with short, medium, and long-term changes, with a key focus on public cloud onboarding. The project requires constant review of the technologies, patterns and paradigms used to ensure the system is easy to understand, performant, scalable, testable, robust, and observable. The role is a conjunction of technical and managerial roles, with line-management duties, while giving technical direction to a growing team of developers globally. The platform is a Greenfield build using standard modern technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Kafka, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Solace, Apache Ignite. The platform runs in a hybrid mode both on-premise and in AWS utilising technologies such as EKS, S3, FSX. The main purpose of this role is to lead efforts of continued platform onboarding to AWS as well as the new initiative to deploy into to GCP. XiP is building a next-generation cross-asset calculation system for Citi trading desks and enterprise users in the largest global financial markets and exchanges in New York, London, and other major financial hubs. The project is in a scale-out phase, with a goal of expanding the userbase and workloads towards running billions of financial calculations per day across hundreds of thousands of cores.
