Job Opportunity: Civils Site Supervisor Location: Teesside Hours: Full-time (40+ hours per week, Monday - Friday) Payment Model: Weekly CIS Duration: Ongoing contract The Opportunity Are you an experienced Civil Engineering Supervisor looking to manage high-volume infrastructure and groundworks operations across Teesside? Search Consultancy is recruiting a proven Civils Site Supervisor to oversee day-to-day site operations on a major civil engineering project in Teesside . Working closely with project managers and site engineers, this role offers long-term stability and project continuity for a strong operational leader who knows how to drive plant, groundworks gangs, and sub-contractors safely and efficiently. If you hold a valid SSSTS or SMSTS with a Gold or Black CSCS card, have a robust background in heavy civils, and want a key supervisory role with a premier regional contractor, we want to hear from you. Your Role & Responsibilities Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will lead daily site activities to ensure work is delivered safely, to spec, and on program: Site Supervision & Directing Gangs: Managing daily site operations, coordinating groundworkers, plant operators, and sub-contractors across deep drainage, earthworks, slab formations, and utility installations. Health & Safety Leadership: Delivering daily tool box talks, site inductions, and RAMS briefings. Enforcing strict safety protocols, environmental standards, and personal protective equipment (PPE) compliance across the site. Program & Progress Tracking: Monitoring daily outputs against site schedules, identifying potential delays early, and reporting progress directly to project management. Quality Assurance & Inspections: Conducting regular quality inspections, maintaining site diaries, signing off permits to dig/work, and ensuring all works meet civil engineering specs and drawings. Material & Plant Coordination: Managing on-site plant utilization, tracking material deliveries, and ensuring resources are deployed effectively to prevent downtime. What We're Looking For To satisfy site entry regulations and civil engineering management standards, applicants must possess: Supervisory Certification: A valid SSSTS (Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme) or SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certificate is strictly mandatory . CSCS Card: A valid Gold (Supervisor) or Black (Manager) CSCS card. Civils Background: Proven track record supervising civil engineering, heavy groundworks, infrastructure, or bulk earthworks projects. Technical Knowledge: Strong ability to read civil engineering drawings, manage permits to dig, and enforce safe working practices around live services and heavy plant. Leadership & Communication: Excellent communication skills to manage on-site teams, liaise with clients/engineers, and maintain strict site discipline.
