A little more about your role: WSP has an opportunity for a Hydrologist or Water Resource Engineer to join our UK and Ireland Mine Water team on a full-time, permanent basis in our London office or Naas office (Ireland). The role will focus on working within the team on a range of projects predominantly within the mining business, although there is also the potential to work with other local sectors including infrastructure, manufacturing and land development. Key responsibilities will include: Contribute to water resources aspects of mining projects, including environmental assessments, permitting, engineering design, ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) considerations, and water stewardship in the industry. Conduct climate, hydrological, and hydraulic assessments; develop water management plans; perform water balance modelling; conduct climate change modelling; and design water management infrastructure. Conduct dam break analyses and consequence classification assessments. Prepare technical documents for senior review. Support non-mining projects in the UK and Ireland, including Flood Risk Assessments and SuDS design. Travel for project-based site work as needed. Assist in client relationship development and business development. Collaborate with colleagues and support senior staff to meet project goals.
