Full-Time Teaching Assistant Newham Full-time Short-term/day-to-day supply, Long-term, Permanent SALARY: £375 to £450 per week Full time SEN teaching assistant to work in a secondary specialist SEN school. Job Reference: JXNSEN About the role The main needs of the students are speech and language and mild autism. We are looking to recruit an SEN teaching assistant for employment in a well resourced special needs school. The post is to start as soon as possible, and you will be required to work during term time until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of becoming a permanent member of staff. You will be working with secondary aged students, the role can be flexible, full time leading into a permanent role. About the school The school deals with pupils that are of a vulnerable and sometimes challenging nature. You will work closely with your colleagues to create action plans for students across primary and secondary, taking an active role in implementing a programme that positively encourages learners to overcome barriers to learning, improve their skills and ultimately gain recognised qualifications. Requirements To be considered for the role of Full-Time Teaching Assistant you will: Background in Youth work or secondary teaching assistant Strong interpersonal skills in order to communicate with families, carers and a multidisciplinary team of teaching staff and educational psychologists. Team Teach or de-escalation training is highly advantageous. Working knowledge of meeting the emotional, social, and mental health of young people Desire to take a supporting role in alternative education setting Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications.
