Senior Electrical AIT Engineer Salary: £55,000 £75,000 Location: Harwell, Oxfordshire (Hybrid) My client is a leading organisation in the space sector, known for delivering cutting-edge mission technology and supporting high-profile international space programmes. As they continue to expand their UK engineering presence, they are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical AIT Engineer to join their team and play a key role in supporting advanced satellite and payload development. The Role This position is responsible for leading and coordinating all phases of Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) activities for complex payloads. The successful candidate will work hands-on with electrical systems, test benches, bespoke EGSE, and payload hardware, ensuring all requirements are successfully verified and validated. Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate full AIT phases for payload programmes. Perform electrical integration of units under test (UUT) with test benches and test equipment. Prepare, implement, and support electrical verification testing (EVT) campaigns, including procedures and custom EGSE. Develop test plans, procedures, and automated test scripts to verify system requirements. Conduct functional and performance testing and produce detailed technical test reports. Maintain and validate EGSE, ensuring devices and tools are compliant and operational. Follow cleanroom protocols and ensure adherence to safety, quality, and handling procedures. Schedule AIT activities and provide technical support across internal and external stakeholders. Skills & Experience Required Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Maths, or equivalent (Masters desirable). Proven knowledge of testing processes, cycles, and methodologies. Experience with satellite AIT processes, flows, and space-industry environments. Strong background in configuring and working with Linux systems, including shell scripting. 5+ years experience in communications systems engineering. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across teams and with customers. Experience providing technical input for ESA proposals (advantageous). Experience in phased array antennas and on-board processing technology (desirable).
