Position: Senior Project Planner Company: ASEE Ltd Reports To: Project Director / Project Manager Direct Reports: Project Planners / Junior Planners (as assigned) We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Senior Project Planner to join ASEE Ltd. This role is responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring detailed project schedules, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with client expectations. The Senior Project Planner will provide expert planning support across multiple projects, working closely with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams to ensure effective project delivery. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Develop, manage, and maintain detailed project programmes across all project phases. Work with project managers and engineers to plan activities, resources, and timelines. Monitor project progress, update schedules, and highlight deviations or delays. Analyse programme risks and constraints, providing recommendations for mitigation. Support tender programmes, providing planning input for bids and proposals. Prepare progress reports, dashboards, and forecasts for senior management and clients. Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure accurate programme data. Ensure compliance with project planning standards, procedures, and best practices. Support change management by assessing programme impacts of variations and scope changes. Mentor and guide junior planners, supporting their development. Contribute to continuous improvement of planning tools, systems, and reporting methods. Qualifications/Experience: Degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline. Proven experience as a Senior Project Planner, Project Planner, or similar role within construction, M&E, or infrastructure. Strong knowledge of planning software (Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent). Demonstrable experience producing and managing programmes for large-scale projects. Familiarity with tender planning and bid submissions. Strong understanding of project controls, cost management, and risk management. Knowledge of health & safety, quality, and compliance standards. Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem solving skills. Strong communication and stakeholder management experience. Ability to lead planning functions across multiple projects. Advanced knowledge of project planning principles and methodologies. Strong ability to assess programme risks and recommend solutions. Ensures accuracy in programmes, reporting, and forecasts. Manages complex project schedules and multiple priorities effectively. Presenting planning information clearly to management, clients, and site teams. Identifies schedule conflicts early and provides effective solutions. Mentors junior planners and contributes to development of planning capability. Works closely with commercial, operations, and engineering colleagues. Performs effectively under tight deadlines and high pressure environments.
