Production Operative (Technician)

Production Operative (Technician) needed in Ledbury , Salary: £15.31 per hour , Job Type: Full-time, fixed-term contract ( April until August ). Shift: 12-hour shifts, 24/7 operation including Days, Nights and Weekends , April start available for the right candidate following successful interview process. About the Role: We are recruiting for a Production Operative (Technician) to join a busy FMCG manufacturing facility in Ledbury for the 2026 season ( April-August ). This is a fixed-term opportunity within a fast-paced production environment operating to strict food safety and quality standards. You will be responsible for ensuring production processes run efficiently, safely and in line with GMP standards, site SOPs and company quality systems to maintain product integrity and customer satisfaction during peak season. Key Responsibilities: • Maintain a safe working environment, identifying hazards and following safe systems of work • Operate production machinery and associated equipment within your designated work area • Follow detailed SOPs to ensure consistent and compliant production processes • Complete accurate production records, handover logs and quality documentation • Support effective product changeovers to meet production schedules • Ensure housekeeping and hygiene standards are maintained in line with GMP requirements • Adhere to site quality systems and escalate any concerns to the Team Leader • Follow production plans to meet daily targets and customer service requirements • Support waste control procedures and maintain a "clean as you go" philosophy • Learn and operate the company's SCADA system • Assist with additional duties as required by the Production Team Leader Skills & Requirements: • Good understanding of GMP and food manufacturing standards • Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset • Ability to follow written procedures and production schedules • Good analytical and numerical skills • Basic IT skills including Excel and Word • Excellent written and spoken English • Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced environment • Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts including Days, Nights and Weekends Education & Experience: • Previous experience within FMCG manufacturing or factory environment preferred • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice and Safety Standards desirable • Basic Food Hygiene Level 2 advantageous • IOSH Working Safely desirable • SAP experience desirable • Full training provided Pay & Benefits: • £15.31 per hour • Shift premium included • Company pension • On-site parking • Opportunity to gain experience within a large-scale manufacturing operation How to Apply: To apply or find out more, contact Pertemps Gloucester: Unit A4, Elmbridge Court, Cheltenham Road East, Gloucester, GL3 1JZ.
