The Automotive Maintenance division of Questech currently have an exciting new position, located near Oxford. This is an opportunity to work in a busy workshop working on a fleet of vehicles. Immediate Starts can be arranged for this busy workshop to maintain fleet of Vehicles Hours: Monday to Friday Must be able to commit to weekend work (With a uplift in rate) Up to 60 hours per week Pay: You will earn an hourly rate of between £24- £36 per hour Weekly Payroll This is an ongoing position with no end date! You can be paid £ PAYE or £ UMBRELLA to suit your needs. THE ROLE: You will be an apprentice trained, fully qualified Vehicle Mechanic and have experience working with a variety of light vehicles, Vans or HGVs. You will also be given the opportunity to train on specialist public sector vehicles. My client, a large transport company with a sizable depot in the Bolton area are looking to recruit skilled Auto Electrician on a full-time basis. PSV Auto Electrician Duties: Principle duties will include fault diagnosis and rectification with a first-time fix policy. You will possess knowledge and experience of automotive electrical systems, circuit diagrams, charging & multiplex systems, laptop diagnostics, use of multi-meters and other test equipment & an understanding of DVSA standards (preferably gained within the PCV / HGV industries). Our Auto Electrician will have to be able to cope with the day-to-day pressures that a normal vehicle workshop brings. Possession of a full UK Driving licence is required and holding a cat D would be an advantage, however driver training can be provided to the successful Auto Electrician. PCV/HGV Auto Electrician - Coach Fleet Location: Taunton, Somerset (on-site) Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Pay: 19.00- 22.00 per hour (DOE) A well-established South West coach operator is seeking an experienced PCV/HGV Auto Electrician to join their busy workshop team in Taunton. You'll be the go-to person for electrical diagnostics, fault finding, and repairs, working independently on complex issues as well as alongside the workshop team to ensure the reliability of a 60-vehicle coach fleet. The Role Working on a modern and varied fleet of PCV/HGV vehicles, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical and electronic systems to ensure vehicles remain safe, compliant, and fully operational. Key Responsibilities: Electrical and electronic fault finding/diagnostics on PCV/HGV vehicles using diagnostic tools and test equipment Repair and replacement of electrical components including starters, alternators, batteries/charging systems, lighting, switches, sensors, and control units Wiring repairs including loom repairs, connectors, shorts/earth faults, and carrying out electrical installations as required Supporting roadside and running repairs when rostered on call-out Assisting with MOT preparation and ensuring defects are rectified promptly to a high standard Ensuring vehicles are maintained in line with Operator Licence requirements and company standards Completing all paperwork accurately, including job cards, service sheets, and defect reports Working Hours Shift rotation: 06:30 - 14:30 08:00 - 16:30 10:00 - 18:30 Overtime is available after hours and at weekends depending on preference and operational need. Call-out is paid at enhanced rates, normally with a minimum of 3 hours paid , even if the job takes less time. Short fixes are paid at double time.
