Intro We're looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Reporting & Insights team in Darlington on an 18-month fixed term contract, working hybrid. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in how Railpen understands and uses its data helping us deliver accurate, meaningful insight that supports strategic and operational decision making across the organisation. The Role In this role you'll provide timely, accurate data to Member Services allowing for the delivery of business critical insights for colleagues and senior leaders. You'll work across a mix of report development, data modelling and data engineering, using tools such as Power BI, Azure, SQL, Oracle. A significant part of your work will involve supporting our Azure Data Warehouse project: building and testing data flows, validating complex data sets, and helping to create a scalable, well structured data environment. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK. Key Responsibilities Producing and enhancing Power BI dashboards, visualisations and reports for BAU, risk, performance and committee use Building and maintaining SQL tables, views and pipelines to support automated and reliable reporting Investigating data inaccuracies, supporting data cleansing processes, and ensuring reporting is always based on trusted sources Supporting the production of DC Committee, Trustee and DB quarterly reporting packs Documenting business requirements and contributing to data mapping Collaborating with internal teams and our external partner TCS to resolve data issues and continuously improve our reporting environment Person We're looking for someone with experience working in a BI Analyst, BI Developer or reporting focused data role, with confidence in handling large and complex datasets. You're someone who enjoys understanding how data fits together, spotting issues before they become problems, and improving how information flows through an organisation.
