Position: Mechanical Fitter - Pharmaceutical Location: Liverpool Salary: £35k-£45k+Benefits An excellent opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join a pharmaceutical equipment manufacturer based in Liverpool. The role involves full-cycle mechanical assembly and fitting of bespoke process equipment - including pressure vessels, rotating machinery, gearboxes, agitators, motors, and hydraulic systems. You will play a key part in build completion, testing, and supporting on-site installations both in the UK and overseas. Job Overview Take ownership of all mechanical build documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Assemble and fit mechanical components to tight tolerances, including limits, fits, and shaft clearances. Work collaboratively within a multi-skilled team, including Electrical and Control Engineers, to ensure timely completion of full equipment builds. Liaise with engineering teams to resolve issues relating to fit, function, or design. Inspect mechanical components, main fabrications, and pressure vessels at supplier premises. Ensure all tasks are carried out safely and in line with H&S requirements. Report non-conformances via established quality systems. Support the Production team with day-to-day activities and provide regular updates on contract progress. Assist with off-site installations at customer sites as required. Requirements Time-served mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification. Previous experience in a similar mechanical fitting role. Experience with pressure vessel testing (desirable). Hands-on experience with agitators, gearboxes, and hydraulic systems. Strong attention to detail. Effective problem-solving skills. Excellent communication abilities. Ability to read and understand assembly drawings.
