About the Opportunity Amentum is currently recruiting for an Architect Engineer - Engineering Manager to join our Engineering & Technical Services (ETS) business. Our work is varied, covering New Build, Generation, Life Extension, and Defueling, and our capabilities are in demand across the nuclear sector. Are you good at spinning plates? It's not something you see very often on TV these days, but figuratively, it is a very useful skill, one which is vital if your goal is to keep nuclear power stations operating safely, contributing to the UK's Net Zero carbon target, or to help prepare them for decommissioning. The UK's five operating stations deliver 16% of the UK's power, and it takes a large team delivering 100's of projects to enable these stations to continue generating as well as defuel the three stations that have ceased operation - and that's a lot of plates. And this is where you come in Your role will be to co-ordinate multi-disciplinary engineering teams and activities, delivering complex engineering solutions to time, cost and quality on projects of varying sizes. If you're familiar with project delivery, you'll know that they have plenty of moving parts and complexity, which is why you'll be working alongside our Operations Managers and Framework Directors to support you to deliver successful outcomes for clients. People are at the heart of everything we do Centre to the success of the role will be your people skills, building effective relationships and interacting with multiple internal and external stakeholders in multiple locations. You'll also work closely with colleagues to support activities that offer the best service to the client. Through your interactions, you'll be able to gather useful intelligence on client needs and work with the team to deliver innovative solutions. You'll utilise your strong communication and engagement skills to achieve client, people and business outcomes, working with your team and peers that are based in different locations across the UK. We're continuously evolving and growing the business, so there's plenty of opportunity to evolve and grow your skills and career too. About the Opportunity Amentum is currently recruiting for an Architect Engineer - Engineering Manager to join our Engineering & Technical Services (ETS) business. The UK's five operating stations deliver 16% of the UK's power, and it takes a large team delivering 100's of projects to enable these stations to continue generating as well as defuel the three stations that have ceased operation - and that's a lot of plates. We're looking for an experienced and capable individual to join our team as a Wastewater Maintenance Service Engineer. At Southern Housing, we are committed to maintaining safe, compliant and fully operational wastewater services for our residents, and this role plays an important part in achieving that. Reporting to the Wastewater Team Leader, you'll be responsible for inspecting, servicing, maintaining, repairing and commissioning a wide range of commercial and domestic wastewater assets. You'll work closely with colleagues across Environmental Services, residents and external agencies to ensure our wastewater infrastructure is maintained to a high standard and any issues are resolved promptly and professionally. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance, servicing and commissioning across our wastewater assets. • Inspecting, diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults on sewage pumping stations, groundwater pumping stations, sewage treatment plants, cesspits, septic tanks and sump pump systems. • Responding to emergency repairs and environmental incidents to ensure assets remain safe, compliant and operational. • Undertaking drainage investigations and repairs within residents' homes, communal areas and neighbourhoods. • Supporting tanker operations, sewage waste removal activities, asset inspections and minor refurbishment works when required. You'll also contribute to continuous improvement by supporting effective asset inspections, maintaining accurate records and identifying opportunities to improve the reliability and performance of our wastewater infrastructure. This role is based in Sittingbourne and will involve travelling to residential and communal properties to carry out inspections, servicing, maintenance and emergency repairs. A full UK driving licence is therefore required. The team collaborates closely with operational colleagues, residents, external agencies and residents' organisations to ensure wastewater and drainage issues are managed effectively and high-quality customer service is delivered. I've strengthened the wording by making the purpose of the role clearer, grouping the technical responsibilities into candidate-friendly points, and highlighting the direct impact the position has on residents and service safety. The source document does not specify hybrid working arrangements, so I have described the role as site-based and requiring travel rather than assuming a hybrid pattern. About Us At Southern Housing, our residents are at the heart of everything we do. As one of the largest housing providers in the UK with over 77,000 homes across London, the Southeast, the Isle of Wight, and the Midlands, we give over 167,000 people somewhere affordable to call their own!
