Animal Care Technician Close date 01/02/2026 Salary £24,522 gross per annum pro rata 18.5 hours pw The Role We are seeking to appoint a 0.5 Animal Care Technician to assist in the day-to-day maintenance/running of animal care courses in the School of Animal Care, ensuring high standards of animal welfare at all times. You will be proactive in the management and maintenance of high welfare and care standards in promoting well-being of livestock and implementation of prophylactic programmes as required. You will also be responsible for preparing areas and resources for teaching to support lecturers and students. This post is for 18.5 hours per week (to be worked over 5 days exact working pattern to be agreed) What are we looking for? You must have a level 3 qualification or above in animal welfare/behaviour or another related subject and a level 2 qualification in English and maths. You must have experience of working with a range of animals in a professional environment and the ability to travel between sites transporting smalls animals as required (e.g. going to the vet). You need to have had experience in stock control and Health & Safety at work and be competent in the use of I.T. including MS Teams, Word, Excel and Outlook.
