This is a varied and challenging programming role. Tasks could include writing code to manage incoming data, working with AI Engineers to analyse huge data sets, or writing Restful APIs in Django to support the React front end. Our ideal candidate takes pride in their work - producing clean, tested, beautiful code. Rather than give you a detailed set of requirements, we encourage engineers to take responsibility for solving the problem. There are many opportunities to innovate as you collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement new features. You will be well supported to continue your professional development. What you'll be doing Implementing robust and scalable solutions in Python. Developing, using and designing REST APIs to efficiently deliver application components. Implementing performance improvement strategies. Ensuring the quality of code by writing comprehensive tests and participating in code reviews. What you'll bring 4+ years of Python coding professional experience Ability to learn and apply new technology quickly Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to team members and stakeholders. Use AI for the heavy lifting: Employ AI tools to analyse legacy code, draft migration plans, generate scaffolds/tests, and speed up refactors-while applying human judgment to validate outputs and manage risks. TDD as standard: Write tests first and automate end to end validation (e.g., Playwright for web flows; pytest for unit/integration). Pair program often: Co design and co code to raise quality, share context, and keep momentum; rotate pairs for knowledge spread.
