We are the National Oceanography Centre (NOC) - the UK's leading institution for integrated coastal and deep ocean research. Through our ground-breaking research, collaboration, and game-changing innovation we work to gain a deeper understanding of our ocean, helping every living thing on our planet flourish. About the role As the world faces increasingly complex environmental challenges, understanding the ocean has never been more important. At the National Oceanography Centre (NOC), our engineers, scientists and technical specialists work together to deliver the knowledge, technology and innovation needed to help society better understand our ocean and its impact on our planet. As our new Director of Engineering Science, you'll play a vital role in shaping how we do that, both now, and for years to come. This is an opportunity to join at an early stage of a significant transformation programme and help create the future of engineering science at NOC. You'll lead a talented community of engineers, scientists and technical specialists, helping them thrive while shaping the capabilities, culture and approach that will enable us to deliver even greater impact. While technical credibility is important, we're also looking for someone who can bring people together around a shared vision, create clarity during times of change and help colleagues feel connected to the journey ahead. You'll work across NOC, building strong relationships with scientists, operational teams and leaders to drive innovation, improve how we work and ensure our engineering capability continues to support world-class science. You'll also play an important role in supporting NOC's long-term sustainability and growth. As the organisation continues to diversify its funding and develop new partnerships, engineering science will be central to how we create value and deliver impact. Working alongside colleagues across science, innovation and business development, you'll help strengthen relationships with industry, government, academia and other stakeholders, ensuring our engineering expertise enables new opportunities, accelerates innovation and supports the delivery of globally significant ocean science. Senior Recruiting Manager
Antler Harrow, Middlesex
Who We Are Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations Cloud, which is a platform that enables organizations that depend on physical operations to harness Internet of Things (IoT) data to develop actionable insights and improve their operations. At Samsara, we are helping improve the safety, efficiency and sustainability of the physical operations that power our global economy. Representing more than 40% of global GDP, these industries are the infrastructure of our planet, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing - and we are excited to help digitally transform their operations at scale. Working at Samsara means you'll help define the future of physical operations and be on a team that's shaping an exciting array of product solutions, including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, and Equipment Monitoring. As part of a recently public company, you'll have the autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term. About The Role This role owns how Samsara consistently hires exceptional talent across EMEA at pace. As Senior Manager, Recruiting - EMEA, you'll lead a team of recruiters covering non-quota-carrying and R&D hiring across the region - spanning Engineering, R&D, Sales Engineering, and G&A/Marketing/Corp - providing both strategic partnership and hands on execution. Your job is to build a function that delivers exceptional hires today and gets stronger over time: clearer profiles, stronger signals, better candidate experience, and better decisions. You'll report to the Director of Recruiting, EMEA, and act as the primary recruiting leader for Director + stakeholders within your business areas across the region, bringing the technical credibility and executive presence to be trusted from day one on senior and specialist searches. This is a hybrid position based in the London area. In this role, you will: Lead a team of recruiters covering non-quota-carrying and R&D hiring across EMEA - including Engineering, R&D, Sales Engineering, and G&A/Marketing/Corp - holding a clear, well-calibrated bar for talent across the team. Coach and develop recruiters, helping them grow from strong execution into independent ownership: planning searches, driving reqs to close, and holding stakeholder trust Own the recruiting relationship with Director + engineering and business stakeholders across EMEA, building deep enough business and technical context to be a credible, consultative partner rather than an order taker. Combine strategic partnership with senior stakeholders and direct hands on execution on the most complex or specialist searches. Bring data driven rigor to diagnosing and fixing recruiting problems: read funnel data, spot contradictions, identify what's broken, and build a practical plan with clear leading and lagging indicators. Improve signal to noise at every stage of the process: sharper role definition, stronger screens, and more consistent interview evaluation and calibration with hiring managers. Design a research centric approach to hiring across EMEA: talent mapping, deliberate outreach, and long term relationship building, adapted to the specific dynamics of European talent markets. Partner with People Partners and business leaders to learn from great hires and mis hires, then update profiles, assessment, and closing approaches based on what's learned. Demonstrated ability to build trust and executive presence with senior level stakeholders. Strong bar setting and coaching skills, with a track record of building recruiters from good execution to sought after talent partners Comfortable operating across multiple recruiting disciplines simultaneously (technical + Sales Engineering + G&A/Corp), rather than a single specialism. Strong pluses: Sales Engineering and/or G&A recruiting experience, alongside core engineering hiring. Director+ level search experience. EMEA scale recruiting leadership, ideally spanning multiple countries/markets. The range of annual base salary for full time employees for this position is below. Our compensation program delivers above market total compensation through a combination of base salary, performance based bonus/variable pay, and equity (for eligible roles) in a high growth public company. We meaningfully differentiate pay for our top performers, who have the opportunity to earn above market compensation that can outpace the broader market over time. Beyond compensation, we provide the foundations that enable long term success: a flexible, employee led remote model, a professional development stipend, comprehensive health and parental leave plans, and more. If you're ready to build for the long term and own the outcome, your journey starts here. Our offices are open for those who prefer to work in person and we also support remote work where it aligns with our operational requirements. For certain positions, being close to one of our offices or within a specific geographic area is important to facilitate collaboration, access to resources, or alignment with our service regions. In these cases, the job description will clearly indicate any working location requirements. Our goal is to ensure that all members of our team can contribute effectively, whether they are working on site, in a hybrid model, or fully remotely. About the role The Telegraph is constantly evolving its reader-first and subscriptions-first model and how we work with advertisers and commercial partners as a result. We believe that traditional branded content is becoming an outdated practise for editorial businesses, and that instead of responding reactively to all briefs we should be building exciting new types of partnerships founded on true editorial alignment, 1st party data, audience insights, and work with brands long term to achieve their business objectives, rather than focusing on short term KPIs. EIPs align brands with our core editorial initiatives. We place brands at the heart of our paid-for content, and focus on building partnerships founded on in-depth audience insights, that have real impact and deliver value for the client, the reader and The Telegraph.
