DUTIES Your duties as the Trainee HGV Mechanic (LGV / Vehicle Technician) include: Assist with Maintenance and Repairs: Supporting servicing, maintenance and repair of HGVs and LGVs Carry out Inspections: Performing routine vehicle checks and basic diagnostics Support Senior Mechanics: Assisting with complex mechanical and engineering repairs Maintain Workshop Standards: Keeping the workshop clean, organised and safe Ensure Compliance: Following health and safety regulations and workshop procedures Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate documentation of work completed Tool and Equipment Use: Using workshop tools and equipment safely and effectively Continuous Learning: Developing mechanical knowledge and practical skills through training CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL Genuine interest in vehicle mechanics, HGVs and LGVs Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills Basic mechanical knowledge or understanding of vehicle systems Strong work ethic with a positive and proactive attitude Ability to work independently and as part of a team DESIRABLE Apprentice trained or working towards a recognised qualification City & Guilds Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Maintenance & Repair or equivalent Full UK driving licence HOW TO APPLY To be considered for this job vacancy, please submit your CV to our Recruitment Team who will review your details. This is a practical role where you ll carry out repairs, refurbishments, and installations on a wide range of equipment. You ll play a key part in ensuring all are safe, compliant, and built to last. Salary: £41,301 - £45,115 depending on experience.
