This is a hands-on, varied and fast-paced role supporting critical customer sites with temporary boiler and heating solutions across the region. This is NOT a planned maintenance role we are looking for an engineer who thrives in a reactive, fast-response hire environment, where no two days are the same. The Role You will be responsible for installation, commissioning, servicing, fault-finding and breakdown response on commercial temporary heating and boiler systems, both depot-based and on customer sites across the Midlands. Systems typically range from 600kW to 2MW (Gas & Oil) and include forced draft burner technology and associated control systems. The role will involve: Installation & commissioning of temporary boiler / heating equipment Service, maintenance & reactive breakdown response Working with forced draft burners & commercial boiler systems Fault finding on mechanical, combustion and control systems Working with BMS / control wiring Modifying plant room pipework and system integration Supporting complex installs (occasionally requiring 1 2 nights away) Working both on-site and depot-based when not attending jobs This is a field-focused role with variety, autonomy and responsibility. What We re Looking For Strong experience with forced draft burners & commercial boiler systems Experience working on 600kW 2MW gas / oil systems Background in commercial / industrial NOT domestic Experience in a reactive / hire / breakdown environment (key requirement) BMS / controls / combustion understanding Strong mechanical fault-finding ability Flexible, hands-on and comfortable working in varying conditions Team-focused, proactive and safety-driven You must understand the nature of this role some days involve long hours, travel, weather exposure and complex installations.
