The Opportunity We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Manager to lead supplier sourcing and capacity strategy for Caterpillar's Large Electric Power Solutions (LEPs) business. This critical role will secure manufacturing capacity for CAT solutions. What or who are CAT Solutions? CAT Solutions is made up of a large global team who manage the sales, design, specification and manufacture of gensets packaged into enclosures with varying levels of complexity. The units are designed to order and range in project size. The primary application is standby power for Data Canters in the EAME region. The managers leading this group are accountable for ensuring scalable, customer-focused power generation solutions. The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with commercial acumen, leadership, and influencing skills. A key priority will be assessing the current supply base and pricing landscape, then developing and executing a robust EAME supply strategy in alignment with our Sales colleagues. What You Will Do Sources, develops and onboards suppliers across the EAME region who can successfully manufacture CAT Solutions, diesel and Gas Genset enclosures along with electrical controls and switchgear. Negotiates pricing, terms, and contracts with those sourced suppliers. Lead a team responsible for ensuring the suppliers meet the key People, Quality, Velocity and Cost metrics for our business. Leading a group of individual contributors that deliver projects associated with lean processes, global market understanding, tools, and systems. Managing the overall development of solutions capacity and capability, collaborates with senior stakeholders to collect business requirements, and prepares implementation plans for successful deployment. Executing key strategic initiatives such as the development of standardized best practices, offerings, services and development of associated tools & training. Driving adoption and identifying continuous improvement opportunities/projects, including standardization and simplification, and mitigating risks. What You Will Have Experience of working across Global Sales organisations Customer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions. Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the power generation equipment, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters; ability to apply industry knowledge appropriately to diverse situations. Effective Communication: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information and needs through the application of appropriate communication. Negotiating: Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner. Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers. Cost-Benefit Analysis: Ability to analyse the purpose and scope of a producer, product, process, or project in terms of cost and benefits. Top Candidates Also Have Experience in Deisel and Gas Power Generators design and possibly sales Experience in scope of Data Centre standby and prime power sourcing requirements Extensive experience and knowledge of EAME CAT dealer network A completed university degree in engineering (Electrical or Mechanical), manufacturing, or related field. Must be proficient in English, second Languages in Arabic would also be very useful Additional Information 25%-50% Travel dependent on home location.
