We'll also look to you to design and develop software with a focus on the automation of build, test and deployment activities, while developing the discipline of software engineering across the business.You'll also be: Defining, creating and providing oversight and governance of engineering and design solutions with a focus on end-to-end automation, simplification, resilience, security, performance, scalability and reusability Working within a platform or feature team along with software engineers to design and engineer complex software, scripts and tools to enable the delivery of bank platforms, applications and services, acting as a point of contact for solution design considerations Defining and developing architecture models and roadmaps of application and software components to meet business and technical requirements, driving common usability across products and domains Designing, producing, testing and implementing the working code, along with applying Agile methods to the development of software with the use of DevOps techniques The skills you'll needYou'll come with significant experience in software engineering, software or database design and architecture, as well as experience of developing software within a DevOps and Agile framework.Along with an expert understanding of the latest market trends, technologies and tools, you'll bring significant and demonstrable experience of implementing programming best practice, especially around scalability, automation, virtualisation, optimisation, availability and performance.You'll have strong experience of designing applications using React JS and Spring Boot microservices, coupled with strong REST API knowledge.You'll also need: A strong background in leading software development teams in a matrix structure, introducing and executing technical strategies The ability to rapidly and effectively understand and translate product and business requirements into technical solutions Proficiency in frameworks, Spring Boot and Java technologies along with the ability to work independently and implement best practices Experience of building cloud native microservices and APIs through an Agile delivery team A working understanding of relational databases and modern databases such as Postgres or MongoDB Experience working with testing teams to set up automation test frameworks, mocking, stubbing and unit testing tools A background of working with code repositories, bug tracking tools and deployment strategies

Role Data Architect / Head of Data / Head of Development Client: NHS Trust - High Profile Data Programme Salary: Outside IR35 Competitive Day Rate Long Term Contract An NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Data Architect- though we will also consider an exceptional Head of Development or Head of Data- to play a pivotal role in the design and delivery of a scalable data platform that will model how hospitals operate. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a high profile programme shaping the next generation of NHS data capability. About the Role We are building a scalable Federated Data Platform (FDP) style tool, and we need a senior data leader who can: Architect and oversee the development of a complex, enterprise wide data platform Shape a tool that translates real world hospital operations into a robust operationally aligned data product Identify, define, and embed best practice in data architecture and engineering Provide technical leadership across data modelling, governance, interoperability, and platform design Bring proven experience implementing a large scale data platform within a complex environment Work closely with clinical, operational, and digital teams to ensure outputs are relevant and strategically aligned This is a delivery critical role with high visibility across the Trust and partner organisations.
