Responsibilities Assemble and integrate mechanical and electrical components, sub-assemblies, and systems according to technical drawings and work instructions Perform electrical wiring, cable harnessing, and connector terminations following industry standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620). Perform soldering and rework activities following industry standards (e.g. IPC-J-STD-001) Creating and maintaining risk assessments Record test data accurately and complete all documentation required by the project or quality management system. Diagnose and troubleshoot assembly or test issues and support engineering in root-cause analysis and corrective actions. Maintain a clean, organized, and ESD-safe working environment. Ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental, and quality assurance procedures. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the AIT department Requirements ONC / HNC / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronic Engineering (or relevant experience). Minimum 5-10 years of experience in a hands on assembly, integration, or test role-ideally within aerospace, defense or electronics. Excellent organisational skills Strong practical skills in mechanical fitting, wiring, and assembly. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Experience using hand tools, torque tools, and test instruments (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.). Attention to detail and commitment to high quality workmanship. Good problem solving and fault finding abilities. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently under minimal supervision. Knowledge of health & safety and cleanroom/ESD practices. Fibre optics handling and cleaning experience.
