Job title: Compliance Officer Location: Gravesend, Kent : Full-time, Permanent Competitive salary: £30,000 to £35,000 DOE Our client is a leading provider of national and international logistics solutions across air, sea, road, rail, and specialist cargo. They are seeking a Compliance Officer to join their Gravesend office. This is a great opportunity to work with a company dedicated to logistics excellence and innovation. On a day-to-day basis, you will ensure the company adheres to UK, EU, and international trade, customs, and sanctions regulations. You will develop, implement, and maintain company compliance policies, procedures, and frameworks. Key Responsibilities: Keep track of regulatory changes and advise management on necessary actions. Conduct internal audits, assess risks, and support ISO and AEO compliance processes. Act as a point of contact for regulators, auditors, suppliers, and internal teams. Deliver compliance training and promote staff awareness of regulatory responsibilities. Assist operational teams during quieter periods with import/export administration and documentation. Maintain health and safety standards and ensure proper documentation. The successful Compliance Officer will have proven experience in compliance, risk management, or legal roles, ideally in freight forwarding, logistics, or international trade. You will have a strong understanding of UK, EU, and global trade regulations, including customs, sanctions, and export/import legislation. Requirements: Familiarity with AEO standards and ISO management systems (ISO 9001 desirable). Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with compliance or regulatory software. Desirable: Qualifications in Law, International Trade, Business Administration, or recognised Compliance Certification (ICA, IRM, IOE&IT).
