Produce components in accordance with technical drawings, route cards, and work instructions. Carry out tool changes, offset adjustments, and machine parameter settings as required. Conduct quality checks using appropriate measuring and gauging equipment and ensure all documentation is accurately completed. Maintain and improve 5S standards on the shop floor. Participate in routine maintenance and Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) activities. Identify and highlight opportunities for process and efficiency improvements. Ensure compliance with all departmental and company quality standards. Work safely and report any health and safety risks. Train and support other operators as required. Liaise with other departments to support production schedules. Perform any additional ad-hoc duties as necessary. Key Skills of a CNC Miller Setter Operator Previous experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of technical drawings and specifications. CNC or manual milling machine experience. Strong attention to detail and quality assurance. Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines. Teamworking and mentoring capability. Knowledge of TPM and 5S principles. Successful candidates will ideally be time served to ensure that jobs are manufactured in accordance with supplied technical drawings and specifications however those with demonstrable work experience will be considered. Machining Aluminium, Steel, and other metals for various components. Ensure correct speeds/feeds and optimal operating practices. Consistently meet program cycle times, including simultaneous operation of left/right-hand parts. Efficiently set up components using fixtures or plates. Accurately measure tooling/components using micrometers, verniers, etc. Maximise machine efficiency and provide feedback for process improvement. Work closely with the CNC Team Leader to ensure job timings are met. Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area. Perform preventative maintenance on machines.
