Location: Stafford ST16 3EL Applications close: 9 a.m. Friday 13th November 2026 About Community Link Stafford & District Community Link has been operating since the mid-1980s, first under the auspices of Stafford Borough Council Voluntary Services and, since 2002, as an independent charity. Its purpose has remained consistent: to provide transport for members who cannot access it because of age, disability, health, location or a lack of public transport. Around 350 people are members today and volunteer drivers continue to provide much of this service. About the role As the current CEO prepares to retire, the charity seeks its next Chief Executive, inheriting a committed team, an established service and a strong local reputation. Lead a community transport organisation and continue to grow our contracts and services so that we help even more people reach the places and services that matter to them. Community Link is a well-regarded local provider and has been one of the Mayor of Stafford's chosen charities in recent years. The charity also delivers mainstream and SEN school transport contracts. This work brings in income that supports the member transport service and helps keep it available in Stafford and District. The contracts and fleet are an important part of how Community Link sustains its charitable purpose. Community Link operates around 50 minibuses and five wheelchair-adapted cars. The mix reflects its broad transport work, including school contracts as well as accessible community journeys for members. About the role As the current CEO prepares to retire, the charity seeks its next Chief Executive, inheriting a committed team, an established service and a strong local reputation. The role is to lead the whole organisation, safeguard its purpose and make sure its contracts, finances and people support accessible transport for the long term. Who we are looking for You will be a visible, thoughtful leader who can earn trust, keep the needs of members and older people in view and balance the charity's purpose with the commercial realities of a contract-led transport service. Parentkind - Chief Financial Officer
Cpl UK
Help lead an ambitious national charity helping children do better at school. Parentkind is the UK's largest parent charity. We champion the role of parents in education, support parents and PTAs across the country and work directly with schools through our Parent Friendly Schools accreditation. This year we celebrate our 70th birthday and are looking for someone to help lead our organisation. This is an exciting time to join us. With a new Chief Executive, a new strategy and an ambitious programme of change underway, Parentkind is entering an important new phase. We want to grow our impact and income, building a stronger organisation capable of making an even greater difference to parents and children. We have a strong national profile and use it to represent the voice of parents in education. We support thousands of PTAs and parent groups across the UK. We are growing Parent Friendly Schools and want to strengthen our approach to partnerships and commercial income. Over the years ahead, we want to grow Parentkind and our Parent Friendly Schools accreditation to make an even bigger difference. To help deliver that ambition, we're looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who is passionate about growing the organisation so we can achieve more for parents across the UK. The role As CFO, you will be part of a two-person Executive Leadership Team, helping to lead Parentkind. This is about much more than managing our finances. You'll help lead the organisation, make important strategic decisions and support Parentkind's growth. You'll provide leadership across finance, governance and operations, helping us balance commercial thinking with our charitable purpose. You will lead our approach to income generation, including PTA membership and Parent Friendly Schools, and help identify new commercial opportunities. You'll play a pivotal role in Parentkind's future. Why this role matters Parentkind is at an important point in its development. We have strong foundations, a reputation for credibility and a growing range of services that support schools and parents. The need for our work has never felt more important. Schools face increasing challenges, parents need our support and stronger parental engagement in education can improve outcomes for children. As CFO, you will help ensure Parentkind is in the strongest possible position to respond to these challenges. The decisions you make won't just be reflected in balance sheets and board papers. They'll help create stronger school communities, enable more parents to engage in their child's education and contribute to better outcomes for children across the UK. About you You're an experienced and qualified finance leader who combines commercial awareness with a passion for growing purpose-led organisations and a collaborative approach. You enjoy helping a national charity work more effectively by translating strategy into action and social impact. You may already be operating at CFO level, or you could be an ambitious Finance Director looking to take the next step in leadership. Most importantly, you'll be excited by our purpose. You'll understand that strong financial leadership can be a powerful enabler of social impact. You'll be motivated by the opportunity to help Parentkind reach more schools, support more parents and improve educational outcomes for children. Why join Parentkind? This is a chance to join a charity with a clear purpose, an ambitious future and a team that genuinely believes in the difference its work can make. You'll have the opportunity to lead strategy, influence organisation-wide decisions and work alongside colleagues who are committed to improving the lives of parents and children. For the right person, this role offers something increasingly rare - the opportunity to combine commercial leadership with meaningful impact at a national scale. Recruitment process We know that senior appointments require careful consideration, so we have designed a process that allows candidates to learn as much about Parentkind as we learn about them. Applications close: Monday 26 October 2026, 9am First-stage interviews: Thursday 12 November (virtual) Final-stage interviews: Friday 20 November (in person, central London) We encourage early applications and reserve the right to begin conversations with suitable candidates ahead of the closing date.
