Senior Buyer - Civil Engineering Salary: £40 - £45k + pkg Location: Derby Regions: East Midlands, Midlands, West Midlands We are looking to recruit a Senior Buyer to join a regional contractor based out of their Head Office in Derby. The team currently consists of one Buyer/Assistant Buyer and we need to bring on someone who can work alongside them and bring a wealth of buying knowledge to the team. The ideal Candidate who is experienced (circa 10 years ideally) who our current Buyer(s) can learn and develop from, And with a background within the construction industry, this person needs to join already having sufficient knowledge of buying within construction, and for contractors not client/consultancy. General Duties will consist of: Purchasing goods, materials, tools, equipment and services to ensure that the company's operational needs are met, taking into account price, quality and delivery and to ensure continuity of supply. This role has greater responsibility and accountability than a Buyer and includes some people management responsibility and implementation of the Procurement Processes for the company's supply chain. In addition to this, the role will include supporting the estimators with tender rates and prices.
