We're looking for a Principal Structural Engineer to join our Energy team, driving the design and delivery of hydropower and dam projects across the UK. As a member of our Structural Engineering team, you lead on the delivery of high-quality major structural engineering projects across the energy sector, with a focus on hydropower & dams. You will report directly to our Energy Structural Engineering Lead; developing our structural knowledge and capability, and supporting internal opportunities in sectors beyond energy. In this role you will carry out structural engineering design for concrete, steel and masonry structures within the energy sector. You will also carry out structural inspections and produce accurate reports that define requirements for asset maintenance and modification to meet client and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Technical Delivery Lead the structural engineering design and delivery of major energy projects, from concept and scheme design to detailed design, tender, and construction packages. Oversee the preparation of calculation packages for submission to regulatory authorities and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards. Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (or actively working towards it) with either the IStructE/ ICE. Proven experience in structural design across various sectors, ideally including hydropower and dams. Proficiency in analysis, modelling, and hand calculations.
