This role will work on the design, drawing and calculations of our projects, working with the wider Design team, with site visits to carry out surveys and data collection, as required. It will also support the Design Manager to provide a high-quality design and engineering service covering Electrical aspects of building services. Some of the key deliverables in this role will include: Support the Design Manager, help develop the engineering and design team, to achieve company, team and individual objectives and to successfully deliver best value design solutions. Assist in all design work in collaboration with the design lead and project teams. Participate in the technical review process and advise on any variances from plan and the possible corrective actions to be taken. Undertake schematic and detailed design of installations/schemes within the remit of the jobholder's specialist skill area. Conduct validation visits to sites to satisfy the installation satisfies the design intent. Understand fully the project fee build up, cost allocations, forecast and programme to support the design lead in managing design costs. Assist the design lead in managing change on projects to enable additional costs to be recovered. Apply current legislation regarding building regulations, standards, CDM, quality control, commissioning, safety & environmental issues relating to all building services activities. Regularly attend company CPD seminars. Mentor and provide help / guidance to Assistant and Graduate Engineer's. Have awareness and provide support to Principal / Senior Engineers on complex engineering problems. Attend and voice technical questions at design team meetings with the team/client via teams or in person. Provide engineering solutions to site-based problems through TQ/RFI process. Ability to confidently conduct site visits to carry out routing surveys and assessments.
