Equine Studies Lecturer 39-hrs per week Salary: £30,866.16 Our client seeks to appoint a full-time Equine Studies Lecturer to join its enthusiastic, vibrant, and hardworking team. As one of only two specialist horse racing colleges in the UK, this third sector provider delivers training for people in both racing and other equine industries. Located in the scenic grounds of a private estate near Doncaster, it achieved Ofsted Grade 2 for overall effectiveness and Grade 1 for both Behaviour and Attitudes and Personal Development in December 2022. The successful applicant will be responsible for riding and stable management tuition for their Doncaster Equine College, and horse care courses (Level 1 to Level 3). Therefore, they must be confident on the yard, Indoor School and be prepared to adhere to their practices. They will also contribute / support the Doncaster Equine College (DEC) Show, dressage competitions, educational visits, and DEC Taster Days some of these may involve weekend working. It is essential that applicants possess a Level 3 Diploma in Horse Management or an equivalent qualification, a teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent), and an Assessor qualification, or be prepared to work towards and achieve one. You should be highly motivated, an excellent communicator and be able to work as part of a team. You must have a willingness to work with young people who will present challenging behaviours, which at times can be stressful. Relevant vocational experience in the Equine industry and of working in the educational sector with young people is essential. Working hours are: Monday: 8:30am 4:00pm Tuesday Friday: 8:30am 5:00pm There is a 30-minute unpaid lunchbreak each day.
