Senior CNC Machinist Location: Chesterfield Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Pay: £16.50 - £17.50 per hour + overtime available About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Senior CNC Machinist to support the manufacture of high-quality timber products. You'll primarily set, operate and optimise 5-axis CNC machinery (ideally SCM M100) while also supporting production across beam saws, edge banders and other machinery as required. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in precision engineering, enjoys working to high standards and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities: Set, operate and optimise 5-axis CNC machines (SCM preferred). Work from technical drawings and manufacturing specifications. Measure, inspect and ensure components meet tight tolerances. Record production data, output and performance metrics. Support cross-training across the machine shop. Assist and mentor other machine operators where required. Maintain high standards of safety, quality and housekeeping. Essential Experience: Proven experience setting and operating 5-axis CNC machinery. Experience with SCM CNC machinery or timber manufacturing is preferred. Confident reading technical drawings and recording production data. Experience operating beam saws and edge banders is advantageous.
