The Medical Liaison Scientist (MLS) will be ScubaTx's dedicated, on-the-ground representative for this deployment: coordinating day-to-day activity with LifeGift and Houston-based clinicians, translating technical and clinical performance into commercial value, and ensuring the system integrates smoothly into existing OPO and transplant workflows. This is a new, dedicated role rather than an extension of an existing one. Key Responsibilities 1. Real-world deployment support Coordinate day-to-day logistics of ATC-Heart deployment with LifeGift (Houston OPO) and Texas-based clinical partners (Texas Heart Institute, Texas A&M/EnMed). Provide on-site training and workflow-integration support for OPO recovery teams and transplant clinicians, working with the Technical Director on device troubleshooting where required. Data analysis & customer value modelling Support structured customer insight gathering (workflow requirements, adoption criteria, procurement decision drivers). Analyse real-world performance and usability data generated during deployment. Contribute data collection and analysis in support of the quantified customer value model, working under the direction of the Project Director. 4. Reporting, training & dissemination Produce regular field reports and contribute to milestone and stage-gate reporting to the Project Director. Support development of customer-facing training materials and clinician communication resources. Contribute to conference presentations and publications of project findings (e.g. ISHLT, AOPO), subject to commercial confidentiality. Prepare and maintain product materials for clinical interactions, including leaflets, slide decks and other resources to support customer-facing activities. Support the design and execution of further evidence-generating initiatives as identified by the Project Director. Assist in drafting and reviewing publications and scientific communications in collaboration with clinicians and academic scientists. Travel Requirements This role is based in ScubaTx's Manchester office but requires frequent travel to Houston, Texas, concentrated during the real-world deployment phase of the project (approximately November 2026 - June 2027): During the deployment phase: on-the-ground presence in Houston of approximately one week in every four to six weeks, with more frequent trips around key training and deployment milestones. Before and after this window: shorter, more occasional visits for relationship-building, planning and follow-up. Occasional additional travel to other US sites or relevant conferences as required. Candidates must be able to travel to, and undertake business activity in, the United States (e.g. via ESTA/B-1 or equivalent business travel authorisation). Person Specification Degree (BSc, MSc, or PhD, including candidates in the final stages of thesis completion) in a relevant life sciences, biomedical engineering, clinical or related discipline. Experience in a clinical, medical device or life-sciences commercial environment, ideally involving direct interaction with clinicians, hospital or procurement staff. Relevant doctoral research experience in a life sciences or clinical context will be considered equivalent. Strong data analysis skills (e.g. Excel and/or statistical software), with the ability to translate technical and clinical data into clear commercial insight. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable liaising confidently with senior clinicians and OPO leadership. Willingness and ability to travel frequently and independently to the USA, as set out above. Self-motivated and comfortable operating with significant autonomy while based remotely from the core UK team. Familiarity with organ transplantation, organ preservation, or OPO operations. Experience with medical device field deployment, clinical evaluations, or post-market surveillance. Understanding of US healthcare and transplant procurement/reimbursement pathways. Prior experience supporting an early-stage or scale-up medtech company. About ScubaTx ScubaTx is a Manchester- and Houston-based medical device company developing the Active Temperature Control (ATC) platform: a reusable, plug-and-play system that actively regulates and maintains precise, tuneable temperatures for donor organs during transport, alongside proprietary oxygen persufflation technology. ATC-Heart, the company's first product application, is approaching FDA 510(k) submission and initial US commercial deployment. This role is central to that transition from late-stage development into real-world clinical use.

About Zip Zip is the AI platform for enterprise procurement - built for humans and agents working together. By orchestrating procurement across teams, tools, and suppliers with the help of AI agents, companies can secure the resources they need to innovate faster than ever before. The world's most influential enterprises trust Zip, including T-Mobile, OpenAI, AMD, Mars, Dollar Tree, and more. Together they've saved over $8 billion and processed over $500 billion in spend. Zip's team includes product leaders from Apple, Airbnb, and Meta, as well as former procurement leaders from United Health, Sanofi, MGM Resorts, Discover, and NASA. Best in Business, and LinkedIn Top Startups. Your Role This is a founding role. You will be the first Enterprise Architect on the ground in EMEA, standing up the function end-to-end: the playbooks, the reference architectures, the technical discovery motion, and the deal patterns that every future EA will inherit. You'll personally engage on our most strategic pursuits across the business - Fortune 500 and FTSE 100 prospects with SAP-dominant landscapes, complex multi-entity structures, and e-invoicing mandates that don't exist in other regions. You'll work directly with the Global SE leader and partner with Sales, Solution Engineering, Product, and Customer Success leaders. What you build here will shape how Zip sells and delivers across Europe for years. Please note this is a hybrid role out of our London office. Head of IP & Innovation
Oxford Quantum Circuits Reading, Berkshire
At OQC, we aren't just theorising about the future; we're building it. Born from a philosophy of bold innovation, we've successfully transitioned quantum computing from an academic dream into a commercial reality. The most exciting thing is that we're just getting started and we've recently closed our £260 million Series C funding round - the largest fundraise ever completed by a quantum computing company in Europe. The Purpose As our Head of IP & Innovation, you'll be OQC's internal authority on intellectual property, shaping how we identify, protect and leverage the innovations and know-how behind our technology. Working at the intersection of science, engineering, legal and commercial strategy, you'll build an IP framework that protects our competitive advantage without slowing innovation, giving our teams the confidence to invent, collaborate and take quantum technology further. Please note that we also welcome candidates who would like to work 4 days per week on a 80% FTE salary basis. The Role This is a high-impact role with significant autonomy and visibility across OQC. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, you'll own the day-to-day management of our IP portfolio and invention pipeline while developing the strategy, governance and culture needed to manage IP effectively as OQC scales globally. You'll work directly with scientists and engineers to uncover potentially valuable inventions, translate complex technical developments into protection strategies, and ensure IP thinking happens early, not after the innovation has happened. Beyond protecting what we create, you'll help OQC understand where our IP can strengthen our competitive position, enable strategic collaborations and potentially unlock new commercial opportunities. What You'll Be Working On Shape OQC's IP strategy: Develop and implement our intellectual property strategy, aligning portfolio decisions and protection priorities with OQC's technology and commercial ambitions. Own our portfolio and invention pipeline: Manage patents, invention disclosures, trade secrets and proprietary know-how, creating robust processes to identify, evaluate, protect and track valuable IP. Get close to the technology: Lead invention and IP workshops with scientists and engineers, translating cutting-edge technical developments into practical protection strategies. Protect our freedom to innovate: Monitor competitor patent activity, oversee freedom-to-operate work and strengthen how we protect confidential information, trade secrets and external technical disclosures. Enable commercial and strategic activity: Advise on IP ownership, licensing and technology rights across customer agreements, research collaborations, strategic partnerships, fundraising, due diligence and international programmes. Build an IP-first culture: Create practical training and guidance covering invention disclosures, confidentiality, publications, open-source software, AI usage, customer demonstrations and confidential information. Scale the IP operating model: Establish governance, SOPs, records, KPIs and reporting across OQC's global operations, while managing external patent attorneys and specialist IP advisers effectively. What We're Looking For Significant hands-on IP experience within technology, deep tech or another complex technical environment, with strong capability across IP strategy, patents, inventions, trade secrets and confidential know-how. A track record of working closely with scientists, engineers or other highly technical specialists to identify innovation and determine the right approach to protection. Experience leading complex IP matters with substantial autonomy, combining technical, legal and commercial considerations to make clear recommendations and knowing when strategic issues require escalation. Evidence that you've built or materially improved IP processes and governance, rather than simply administering an established portfolio. Experience managing external patent attorneys, IP advisers or other specialist advisers, alongside advising internal stakeholders on ownership, licensing, protection and collaboration matters. The ability to understand complex technical information, spot IP implications and communicate them clearly to senior, technical and non-technical audiences. A relevant legal, IP, scientific or technical background - or equivalent practical experience - combined with strong judgement, organisation and the ability to influence across multiple teams and priorities. The 'Nice-to-Haves' Experience with quantum technologies or another deep-tech field such as semiconductors, advanced computing, photonics or advanced engineering. Qualification as a UK and/or European Patent Attorney, solicitor or other relevant IP professional. A degree or equivalent technical background in physics, engineering, computer science or another deep-tech discipline. Experience supporting IP due diligence for fundraising, investment or strategic transactions. Exposure to international IP matters, research collaborations or government-funded programmes. Hands-on experience conducting or coordinating freedom-to-operate assessments. Experience with technology licensing or identifying opportunities to commercially leverage an IP portfolio. Why Join OQC You will join a world-class team at the forefront of the next computational era. We offer a culture of bold innovation, the chance to work with unique lab infrastructure, and the opportunity to see your work redefine the limits of computation.
