This is a senior, hands-on DBA position supporting customer databases on a 24/7, 365 basis , operating at Tier 3-4 level .You'll play a key role in ensuring: Database performance, availability, and stability Seamless integration with customer systems A reliable, high-quality experience for end users You'll also act as a trusted technical advisor , helping clients and internal teams get maximum value from the platform. Key Responsibilities Maintain and support customer databases in a 24/7 production environment Act as Tier 3-4 escalation for complex incidents and availability issues Analyse existing infrastructure and proactively improve performance and resilience Install, configure, and deploy systems into customer environments Support data migrations and system integrations Identify and implement automation, scripting, and process improvements Perform root cause analysis , owning issues through to resolution Collaborate closely with development and support teams Keep up to date with database technologies, tools, and best practices Essential Experience & Skills Strong experience as a Database Administrator in enterprise or SaaS environments Excellent knowledge of relational databases and SQL Hands-on experience with MSSQL, Oracle, Sybase and/or MongoDB Proven experience in database performance tuning and query optimisation Experience using DB monitoring and performance tools (e.g. Ignite or equivalent) Experience across Linux/Unix and Windows environments (Solaris exposure desirable) Ability to write shell scripts for Unix/Linux A track record of owning production issues in high-availability systems Experience working to SLAs in 24/7 environments Desirable (Not Essential) Experience supporting SaaS platforms , particularly security or endpoint technologies Understanding of data classification and DLP concepts Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar Security Clearance Requirement This role requires SC (Security Check) clearance .You must: Be eligible to obtain SC clearance Have lived and worked in the UK for at least 5 years Have no known issues (financial, legal, residency) that would prevent clearance Unfortunately, candidates unable to pass SC cannot be considered.
