(Lead Electrical Design Manager) - Position Overview Our client, a well-established construction company, is seeking a Lead Electrical Design Manager to join their MEP design team. You will be responsible for delivering detailed electrical designs and coordinated construction information across a range of projects. This hands-on role ensures all design outputs support efficient on-site delivery for M&E contractors. Reporting to the Head of MEP Design, you will represent the design team in client-facing settings such as workshops, progress meetings, and technical reviews, contributing technical expertise to successful project delivery. My client, a market leading Building Services Consultancy who specialise in sustainable infrastructure and innovative low carbon builds, are searching for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in London. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will join a supportive team based in London to complete sustainable HVAC designs for commercial, healthcare, leisure, residential, and industrial warehouses across the UK. As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will be expected to complete detailed mechanical designs including heating, ventilation, plumbing and air-conditioning using AutoCAD and Revit. You will also be expected to complete 2D and 3D models, perform heat load calculations, duct sizing, pipe sizing, and equipment selection using relevant software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, HAP, or Elite). - Prepare and review mechanical drawings, schematics, simulations and technical specifications in accordance with building codes, sustainability goals, and project requirements. -Design to BIM level 2 in accordance with British Standards PAS 1192-5 -Collaborate with electrical, plumbing, and structural engineers to ensure coordinated MEP layouts and avoid design clashes. - Attend internal and client meetings to resolve design issues/queries and align project objectives. -Review designs submitted by the team and respond to RFIs (Requests for Information). -Site visits to monitor installation quality, verify compliance with original designs and highlight issues during construction. -Evaluate new materials and designs ensuring energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
