CNC Miller We are seeking a skilled and motivated 5-Axis CNC Miller to join our progressive Precision Engineering team. Working in our machine shop, you will be responsible for setting, operating, and programming CNC milling machines to produce precision components to tight tolerances, for the motorsport & aerospace industries. The successful CNC Miller will be responsible for: Set up and operate CNC milling machines (3-axis, 4-axis, or 5-axis) Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to manufacture components to exacting F1 & aerospace standards Perform in-process quality checks using precision measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, height gauges, CMM knowledge advantageous) Complete Works Order Route Cards accurately and maintain full traceability of components Edit and optimise CNC programs where authorised Liaise with customer contacts regarding job requirements, technical queries Contribute to the quoting process by providing time estimates and technical input for new and existing work Excellent attention to detail and takes pride in a clean and organised workplace producing high quality work. Report any quality issues, non-conformances, or concerns immediately Essential CNC Miller Requirements Proven experience operating CNC milling machines in a precision engineering environment Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications Competent in the use of precision measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges) Competent and confident in self-inspecting your own work to verify conformance to specifications Strong attention to detail with a quality-first mindset Understanding of material properties and machining characteristics Excellent timekeeping and reliability Willingness to work within a controlled quality system and follow documented procedures Desirable Skills & Experience Experience working in an (AS9100) aerospace, or (ISO9001) motorsport environment Experience machining challenging materials (titanium, Inconel, stainless steel) CNC programming experience (Heidenhain) CAD/CAM software experience - Hypermill The CNC Millers Hours will be: Basic 40hr week. Flexible start/finish times available as long as basic hours covered & depending on work schedule. Consistently meet program cycle times, including simultaneous operation of left/right-hand parts. Efficiently set up components using fixtures or plates. Accurately measure tooling/components using micrometers, verniers, etc. Maximise machine efficiency and provide feedback for process improvement. Work closely with the CNC Team Leader to ensure job timings are met. Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area. Perform preventative maintenance on machines. Support other tasks across the Nuneaton site as required. Key Skills of a CNC Milling Machinist : Fully trained in CNC milling with Heidenhain, Siemens or Mazatrol controllers. Solid understanding of machining technology and working to tolerances. Experience in bespoke machining projects, ideally in a manufacturing environment. Time-served machinist with a hands-on, practical approach. Ability to read and interpret drawings (advantageous). Assertive, confident, and flexible with a strong team-oriented mindset. Capable of working effectively under pressure and meeting deadlines.
