Position Available: Quality Assurance Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: 2 roles available. One based in Hertfordshire, the other based in Bedfordshire (both hybrid)

Salary: Up to £52,000 + Paid Overtime & Company Bonus & Very Good Pension Package

Experience needed: Experience in product/quality assurance within an engineering/manufacturing environment, with good knowledge of non-conformance, auditing and corrective actions

About the role

We are a leading defence company who are at the forefront of innovation in the industry and your work will have a direct impact on the safety and security of the UK & our allies. As a Principal Product Assurance Engineer, you would join the quality assurance team who ensure that the proper manufacturing and related processes are applied across all UK projects. We provide support and advice on all aspects of quality including the identification and implementation of sustainable process improvements to existing methods and processes. This role will support UK Manufacturing to identify and reduce project risk or issues associated with process application, process effectiveness or compliance.

The product assurance team provide advice and help in the use of SAP as the non-conformance management tool and identify SAP improvement with respect to the Quality Module. Part of the role involves management of SAP non-conformances and analysis of defect data and acting on this data to undertake problem solving investigations identifying defect root cause and corrective action implementation.

Due to the complexity of the work in our business, we can only consider candidates coming from a similar industry as defence eg, automotive, aerospace, robotics, aviation, electronics manufacturing and other complex forms of manufacturing.

What we need from you:

  • Experience in product/quality assurance in a engineering/manufacturing environment
  • Experience with process-based integrated management systems eg SAP
  • Experience using risk management and practical problem-solving tools eg, 8D, 5Y, PFMEA
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage stakeholders at all levels within a business
  • Good planning and organising skills to ensure multiple tasks are prioritised and monitored to deliver set objectives
  • Capability to identify business improvements and ensure effective implementation
  • Recognise and understand internal and external customer and regulatory and certification requirements, and respond to them professionally
