Cloud Solution Architect (Azure)

Location: Guernsey/Jersey/Isle of Man (Re-location)

Salary: £70,000/£100,000 + Relocation Package + Benefits

JOB PURPOSE

We are looking for a Consultant specialising in Cloud technologies that will be responsible for architecting cloud and software solutions based upon cloud services, including public cloud vendors, to deliver transformational services to clients.

You'll contribute to the strategic direction and drive necessary activity to deliver the business-focused change projects. Through our partnerships with Microsoft and other leading transformation organisations you will be able to play an integral part in strategy and our customers'. You will collaborate on project planning, suggest future improvements to Enterprise Cloud service and propose technology solutions as part of Professional Services team; driving good architectural practice, including the opportunity to provide benefit from your experience and knowledge in Cloud and application migration.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

You will have successfully delivered Cloud and Infrastructure Architectures, with exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments and the ability to integrate Cloud services with customer on-premise networks. Microsoft Azure, AWS or VMWare architecture and design is highly desirable and when considering specific technical domain skills, Networking is desirable. Additionally, previous involvement with Data Centre/on-premises to Cloud migration is essential. You will own the Modern Workplace practice, setting direction, agreeing budgets, providing pre-sales support, implementations and 3rd level support as necessary.

We offer a wide array of services and solutions that enable our clients to transform their business such as; private and public Cloud, Cloud enablement and migration services, Cloud connectivity, communication and collaboration, Modern Workplace solutions, security, networking and backup and disaster recovery.

  • You will be closely aligned with the Account Management/Sales teams across the group providing account support relating to Cloud solution opportunities as well as solution designs, including but not limited to Private and public cloud, DC hosting, storage, DaaS and server virtualisation. Understanding and being part of the customer journey as a credible and trusted partner is essential.
  • Develop an understanding of the customer business goals and strategy, and devise solutions to help them achieve their business outcomes.
  • As a Modern Workplace & Cloud Solutions Consultant, you will have the opportunity to provide subject matter expertise on technical solutions, and act as a technical point of contact for prospects, customers, and sales teams across everything in our cloud and cloud connectivity portfolio.
  • You will be responsible for identifying, developing and assisting with the implementation of cloud services to drive new revenue and achieve targets within the Enterprise market.
  • You will be able to develop a cloud journey based around designed solution, business readiness, existing deployment architecture and business outcomes. You will then be able to action the journey and undertake the migration to the cloud solution on behalf of the customer.
  • Manage and lead a small team of engineers to deliver client implementations to a high standard and quality.
  • You will own the financial and commercial forecasting of solutions to budget for AOP planning.

SkILL and experience REQUIREMENTS

  • Possession of professional level qualifications in one or more Cloud disciplines from Microsoft, AWS or VMware
  • Microsoft 365 and Azure experience
  • Experience in a similar senior consultant role
  • Experience of IT infrastructure, including hardware, operating systems, storage, virtualisation, security devices as well as backup and replication technologies.
  • Server Migrations from on premise to cloud infrastructure, including application migrations and supporting infrastructure and technologies
  • Microsoft 365, provisioning, and migration including DNS, AD, OneDrive and other integrated infrastructure requirements
  • Proven background of providing great customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate by phone, in person or written.
  • Shows initiative and acts independently to resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated high levels of accuracy with excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Experience of customer relationships with the confidence and presence to successfully discuss and advise customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve successful outcomes in handling difficult situations and work with various customers and management levels.
  • Knowledge and experience of ITIL, ISO27001 and PCI-DSS advantageous

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Migration of customer workloads to Cloud platforms.
  • Collaboration on migration and discovery workshops and overall design.
  • Provide professional consultancy supporting around infrastructure technologies, including Microsoft Technologies, Modern Workplace solutions, Teams, Teams Telephony and Cloud.
  • Liaise with customers and prospects regarding design of virtual infrastructures, networks, migration, and backup/DR strategies.
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships with enterprise teams & cloud services operational team.
  • Liaise with the cloud team and third-party support partners on incident and problem cases.
  • Proactively contribute to continuous service improvement with ideas and suggestions for processes, tools and other improvements
  • Mentor and guide other team members in their specialist areas of technology.
  • Draft and create documentation for new systems, services and technologies including procedures for handover into support
  • Prioritise and manage your time alongside stakeholder expectations to deliver for internal and external customers whilst balancing BAU activity and projects.
  • Assist commercial and pre-sales team in preparation of proposals, statement of work, and supporting documents for prospects.
  • Present Cloud Services' vision, technologies and strategy to executives, technical management, and technical engineers
  • Maintain and grow relationships with staff and technology partners, to enhance customer value.
  • Liaise with customers and prospects regarding design of virtual infrastructures, networks, migration, and backup/DR strategies.
  • Participate in out-of-hours, on-call retainer system if required.
  • Provide reports on performance to senior management on a regular basis
