The Curriculum Leader in Media and Film Role: As our Curriculum Leader in Media and Film you will lead the Curriculum Area effectively in all aspects of teaching, learning, and assessment, ensuring high levels of quality and student satisfaction, excellent outcomes, and strong progression. Responsibilities as our Curriculum Leader in Media and Film will include: Oversee the production of ambitious, inspiring and stimulating teaching and learning materials across courses in the Curriculum Area. Ensure that all subject-related documentation such as schemes of work, assessment plans, assessments and mock exams are high quality, fit for purpose and regularly updated. Lead and promote inspirational and innovative teaching, learning and assessment across the Curriculum Area. Ensure that regular testing and/or other assessment practice takes place across all courses in the Curriculum Area, in line with college guidelines, alongside the management and supervision of marking and moderation of work. Alongside the Director of Faculty, ensure that all internal college-related quality processes and procedures, such as observations, the quality audit and PPRs are effectively undertaken in line with college requirements. Ensure that student progress is tracked effectively across the Curriculum Area through a centralised record of student marks. Where appropriate, ensure that where student marks need to be uploaded externally, that this is completed accurately and in a timely manner. Monitor, analyse and effectively respond to all in-year results data across subjects in the Curriculum Area, working with staff to make improvements where appropriate. Take responsibility for leading, supervising and managing line reports in line with college practice and policies. Assist in the selection and appointment of staff within the Curriculum Area. Be responsible for inducting new staff into the subject area, including the induction of Early Career Teachers (ECTs). Timetable subjects in the Curriculum Area according to the curriculum plan, deploying staff effectively and efficiently. Take responsibility for health and safety in the Curriculum Area, ensuring that staff and students adhere to the College's Health and Safety Policy at all time and reporting and following up issues with the Director of Faculty/Health and Safety Partner as appropriate. As our Lecturer in Media and Film, you'll ideally have: A degree level qualification. A teaching qualification relevant to post-16 education (or the willingness to undertake such qualification). The experience and ability to successfully teach an aspect of provision in the adult area. The ability to analyse data to inform decision making and drive improvements in outcomes. A commitment to innovation, development and continuous improvement. A commitment to developing and ensuring high standards in all areas of work.
