Creative Support is looking for warm, caring and proactive individuals to provide person centred care and support at our respite service in the St Helens area. Thyme Lodge is a beautiful modern detached house in the heart of a residential area of Clockface in St Helens. The house is built over 2 floors with 5 en-suite bedrooms, communal lounge, conservatory, sensory room and an open plan kitchen and diner.

Creative Support is a national, fast growing not-for-profit organisation providing support to individuals with a wide range of care needs. We are currently looking for Support Workers to join our Relief team in Swinton.

We are seeking individuals who are strong, resilient, warm, motivated, and approachable with a strong value base to support service users with complex physical disabilities to live within their own tenancies.

We support service users in all aspects of their daily living, promoting choice, independence inclusive of personal care and moving and handling tasks, inclusion and wellbeing. You must have skills and/or knowledge in re-enablement principles. Working as part of our Swinton based team on a rota basis which does include sleep in shifts, you will deliver flexible, person centred support. Experience is essential.

Relief Support Worker Duties:

  • Providing respectful personal care, practical and emotional support,
  • Assisting Service Users to participate in the local community,
  • Ability to work flexibly in shifts over the weekend including waking nights,
  • Develop and sustain warm and trusting relationships with service users,
  • Collaborating with colleagues, families and involved professionals to ensure a coordinated and consistent service.

As a Creative Support Bank Staff member you will have access to our free app which allows you to pick up shifts in any area of the country, provides information on the service and shifts as well as directions. You will be paid on a weekly basis.

We are a passionate, inclusive and anti-racist organisation. We embrace diversity and encourage applicants from all backgrounds and cultures. As a Disability Confident Employer we welcome applications from people with a disability, and as a proud Stonewall Diversity Champion we actively encourage applications from the LGBT+ community.

We will be interviewing for this role as suitable applications are received and may close this role before the closing date upon a successful candidate being appointed.

We can only accept applications from candidates who are located in and eligible to work within the UK.

We are unable to offer any Skilled worker visas for any relief/ bank posts. This is because the Home Office require individuals to have a set annual earnings threshold of over £21,000 per annum and we are unable to guarantee hours on an ad-hoc basis.
