Job Introduction
We're looking for a presenter/producer with bags of personality who is passionate about life in the Bailiwick. You'll be part of a dynamic and exciting team who put audiences at the heart of everything we do. We're looking for a presenter/producer who can really shape our output and connect with our audiences in a fresh and contemporary way. We ask a lot, but you'll be working in a unique location for a station with one of the highest percentage listener rates in BBC Local radio. (Guernsey is a self-governing Crown Dependency which is not part of the UK or EU.) Even if we say so ourselves, Guernsey has got to be one of the best places to live and work. You're never more than twenty minutes from the sea and we have some of the best beaches in the British Isles.
Main Responsibilities
Our programmes combine a mix of news, conversation, music and entertainment and you'll need to weave them all together seamlessly. We are building a team that is collaborative, creative and innovative, so you'll be a team player who is capable of taking on air instruction and direction. You'll also be expected to contribute to the setting up of the show including coming up with creative ideas, finding guests, writing cues and editing interviews. You'll be proactive in ensuring your content is reaching the widest possible audience by utilising all our platforms including BBC Sounds and social media. Most importantly, you'll know how to create a conversation with our local audiences. For a full range of duties, please read the linked job description.
