Senior Brand Manager - JKS Restaurants
Salary - £50,000 - £60,000 per annum

Schedule - Full Time

Experience - Previous experience as a Brand Manager in a quality restaurant group

The JKS Marketing team are seeking a Senior Brand Marketer to drive brand growth and development of their core Indian restaurants (Trishna, Gymkhana and Brigadiers) in London and internationally, plus work on an exciting new opening this summer.

Working closely with the Head of Marketing, the ideal candidate will be responsible for growing our Indian brands to a global scale while maintaining brand ethos and integrity.

The Group

JKS Restaurants was founded by siblings Jyotin, Karam and Sunaina Sethi in November 2008. The group has received critical acclaim and industry recognition since its inception, including 6 Michelin stars, 4 Michelin Bib Gourmands and one restaurant ranked in the Worlds 100 Best restaurants.

The JKS portfolio currently includes Michelin Starred restaurants Trishna, Gymkhana, Kitchen Table, Sabor and Lyles; as well as cult favourites Hoppers, BAO, Brigadiers, Berenjak, Plaza Khao Gaeng, Speedboat Bar and Bibi. Pubs include The Cadogan Arms and The George.

The Role
  • Develop and implement a brand and partnerships strategy that will grow the JKS Indian restaurants into market leading global brands.
  • Build a comprehensive annual brand marketing roadmap that will support both the growth objectives of each individual restaurant and the brands as a whole.
  • Lead the execution and implementation of brand and marketing initiatives, enabling the Marketing Team to hit long-term and short-term goals.
  • Work with creative, design and videography teams both internal and freelance to create innovate brand collateral and campaigns which stand out in the market.
  • Manage junior Marketing Team members taking responsibility for their contribution to the successful execution of brand and marketing strategies as well as their professional development.
  • Manage PR agency partners and ensure they are meeting objectives, providing demonstrable ROI.
  • Strategise and executive new brand launch marketing plans
  • Strategise, secure and execute creative brand collaborations and partnerships. Be able to create the relationships with other leading brands that share our values and make them a reality.
  • Strategise and secure commercial media partnership opportunities for the brands and brand founders.
  • Work with stakeholders and partners across the company to execute marketing, communications and press plans.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to define measurable metrics for brand value and use them to judge the success of brand marketing efforts.
  • Own the marketing and PR budgets with responsibility to demonstrate incremental & positive return on investment.
  • Own and ensure that brand initiatives are contributing to the commercial success of the business. Be able to demonstrate how brand initiatives are helping drive increased covers and top-line sales.
  • Continually measure success through key performance metrics and tracking tools to provide market research, forecasts, competitive analysis, campaign results and consumer trends in order to translate results into actionable insights for the team
  • Have P&L accountability be able to demonstrate how brand strength and activities are contributing to sales.
  • Oversee brand, marketing, community engagement, content, social media and events.
  • Occasionally support other JKS brands as required.

  • Minimum 5 years experience in brand forward marketing role at a consumer facing brand (experience in food and beverage or other hospitality a plus).
  • A passion for restaurants and a keen knowledge of the London scene and global landscape.
  • A proven ability to manage teams in a fast-moving, multi-layered business
  • Ability to manage a large number of stakeholders
  • Ability to manage and plan at both the strategic and operational levels
  • Critical thinking, strategic acumen, and market insight
  • Experience working on an international brand a plus.
  • Experience working, living or frequently travelling to Middle East / USA a plus.
  • Experience with Adobe or other creative tools a plus.
  • Growth mindset with proven track record of developing and embodying a culture of rapid experimentation and continuous learning
  • You will need to have a broad knowledge of marketing across multi-platforms: print, digital, video, social media and press.
