Your new company
Ever-growing, this organisation has successfully operated in their market for 30+ years and has gained an exceptional reputation for supplying high quality goods across the globe. With continued expansion plans to become an iconic brand in their marketplace, their Head of eCommerce is making the addition of a Senior Web Developer (Shopify Liquid) to their team to assist with their growth trajectory ambitions.
Your new role
Taking over some duties from the Head of eCommerce, the Senior Website Developer will be responsible for the development, execution, and optimisation of growth strategies to support our company's market approach objectives. There will be the management of the company/'s 5 Shopify marketplaces and the development of 6 new channels that are going live by the turn of the year. Within this, the Senior Website Developer will be accountable for the development of both the Front End and Back End of the platforms, ensuring a seamless and consistent customer experience, whilst ensuring the Server Side capabilities can match the increased traffic expected. Leveraging a deep understanding of Shopify Plus, the Senior Developer will tailor the online store to the specific demands of B2C markets, using Shopify Liquid to create unique themes, design user-friendly interfaces, and optimise site speed for a diverse customer base, whilst monitoring and enhancing website performance metrics for market success. Utilisation and integration of third-party tools, applications, and APIs to enhance website functionality and user experience will be handled by the Senior Developer, ensuring Quality Assurance practices are conducted for reliability and bug-fixing, alongside the technical documentation to support this, for code-reviews and knowledge transfer. The role will be operated closely with the Head of eCommerce and operated in a hybrid fashion with some office work required (1 to 2 days a month after embedding with the company). Travel and accommodation expenses will be covered. Depending on personal performance, there can be a bonus of up to 15% offered to the person operating successfully in this role
What you'll need to succeed
If you like the sound of the role and challenge so far, I'd be excited to hear about your experience as a Mid-Senior Website Developer (ideally from an eCommerce/B2C setting) in which you can demonstrate the work you've completed, utilising HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP and either Shopify (Liquid) or Magento. Having a deep understanding of Shopify Plus would be highly advantageous but not necessary, as would capabilities within languages outside the above requirements. A knowledge of how Tier 1/2 ERP platforms integrate in the Shopify/Magento platforms will be needed and tested in the pre-interview questioning for this role. If you can example your understanding of performance optimisation, A/B testing and 3rd-party application integration, this will benefit your application for the role. Lastly, outside of the technicals, the Head of eCommerce wants an individual who can show strong problem-solving skills and an eye for detail, alongside excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work with colleagues across the business.
What you'll get in return
This is a brilliant opportunity to further your eCommerce Development career with a highly ambitious and already successful organisation, who pride themselves on a hard-working and fun approach to business. They have a commitment to developing people to reach their full potential, by providing a wide range of personal and professional development opportunities throughout the year, alongside a raft of benefits that include semi-flexible hours, days off for your birthday, 25 days holiday + stats, an annual bonus scheme, Westfield Health cover, breakfast in the office, nursery support, employee product discounts, free parking at the office and a big charity focus to support people in need.
