Your new company
Your new company will be a provider of specialise education services within the South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire districts. As they modernise their Finance function, the organisation is seeking to add a Finance Business Partner to work with the Finance Manager, and support the various companies and sites within the Group with their financial responsibilities. The role is based over a number of sites, so some travel will be required from the Head Office, and all expenses will be covered.
Your new role
Within the role, your responsibilities will be to offer financial assistance with duties leading to the production of month-end management accounts, and be heavily involved in the production of these. You'll post accruals and prepayments for both companies and maintain accurate accounting schedules, alongside reviewing the fixed asset register regularly with the Finance Director. You'll be making payroll submissions on a monthly basis and processing pension contributions, as well as managing the Ledger accounts, including some credit control if necessary. There is the responsibility to reconcile and post company bank accounts on a daily basis, performing intercompany accounts reconciliation and reconciliation of company credit cards. Reviewing and updating schedules for other accounting entries, such as prepayments and accruals. Lastly, completing the duties and requirements of the post in compliance with the organisation's responsibilities.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this position, you should be able to example previous successful workings of the above tasks, including the preparation and production of month-end management accounts, an understanding of financial processes including statutory requirements, reconciliation, ledger management and payroll. A good working knowledge of accountancy software is preferable and a financial qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA) is desirable but not essential. The willingness to study towards qualifications will be a benefit to your application. Due to the setting of this role, you must be able to gain a DBS clearance.
