SEND Teaching Assistant - Primary School (Mainstream) Location: Northfield, Birmingham (B31) Position Type: Full-Time Term Time Only (Monday to Friday, 8:30AM - 3:30PM) Start Date: September 2025 Pay Rate: Negotiable (Dependent on Experience) Contract Type: Long-Term Daily Flexible Supply Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary mainstream school on a long-term basis. At Prospero Teaching, we work closely with local schools to provide high-quality staffing solutions that support both pupils and teaching staff. By joining our team, you'll play a vital role in helping schools meet the individual needs of children, particularly those requiring additional support to thrive in the classroom. About the Role: Supporting children with a range of SEND needs within the classroom and through targeted interventions. Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to ensure all pupils have access to a tailored and enriching education. Assisting with the preparation of resources and creating a supportive learning environment. Providing 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils develop academically, socially, and emotionally. Monitoring and recording pupil progress and providing feedback to the wider team. The Ideal Candidate Will: Be patient, resilient, and nurturing, with a genuine commitment to helping children succeed. Have strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team. Experienced in supporting pupils with communication difficulties, ASD, or other complex needs. Essential Requirements: Hold Right to Work in the UK A valid Enhanced Child Barred List DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one) Able to provide two recent, child-related professional references (covering the last two years) Have previous experience working with children with SEND, ideally within a UK primary school setting Hold a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in education or childcare To Apply: Click apply to submit your CV.
